We will explore the most important hill in in the city which was the political centre in Ancient Rome. Here we will see famous Piazza del Campidoglio with the bronze equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius and explore the hstoric basilicas and palaces that overlook the square.

Colonna Traiana

The Trajan’s Column is an important ancient Roman monument which has come down to us practically intact. It was erected in 113 AD to commemorate emperor Trajan's victory in the Dacian War. This triumph column is decorated with precious reliefs that forms a narrative of the emperor’s campaigns in Dacia.

Santi Apostoli

The origins of this ancient church date back to the 6th century but the actual facade and interior were restored in the 15th century by the order of the Pope Martinus V. The basilica is famous for its portico with Renaissance arches and its fabulous Baroque interior decorated by Carlo and Francesco Fontana.

Galleria Sciarra

Galleria Sciarra is a magnificent example of Art Nouveau. The structure of the Gallery dates back to 1888 and it was born as an outdoor courtyard of Palazzo Sciarra Colonna di Carbognano. Here we will explore the rich decorations by the painter Giuseppe Cellini depicting the figure of women according to the canons of the time and the various female virtues.

Trevi Fountain

Created by Niccolò Salvi in 1735 this is perhaps the most most well-known and beautiful fountain in the world. We will discover its monumental architecture with inscriptions in Latin.

Chiesa di Sant'Ignazio di Loyola

It is a Jesuit Church founded in 1650 and dedicated to Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuit Order. The Basilica is famous particularly for the false dome by Andea Pozzo, who created the perspective trick of the fake architecture.

Pantheon
