The Medieval castle by the sea. The castle is situated on a rocky outcrop jutting out into the sea. It was built in 1076 by the Normans upon the foundations of a 7th-century Byzantine fortification. In 1169, Aci Castello started to expand after an eruption of Mount Etna made the towns in its vicinity uninhabitable

Cruising along the coast of the vulcano, you will see the Mount etna smoking on top, and you will go where Etna was born. We will sail through the place where the Submarine Volcanic activity first took place about 500,000 years ago, with eruptions occurring beneath the sea off the ancient coastline of Sicily.

Evan & Carlo were the perfect Captain & Crew. We were invited to swim anytime we wished (wonderful & refreshing), they offered history & legends of the coastline we explored and followed by the most beautiful and delicious meal we could imagine! Sailing with this company is a relaxing and memorable break from “City and Land Tours”. Just Do It.

Very enjoyable and relaxing sailing experience off the coast of Catania. Ivan and Julia were great hosts and very friendly. Jumped off the boat at a couple of swimming spots which rounded out the trip.

A wonderful and relaxing way to enjoy the beauty of Sicily! You do not have to be a sailor to thoroughly enjoy your time on the water, the delicious food or the congenial and experienced crew. Our group was made up of non-sailors, a sailor with some cruising experience and a competitive sailor who had participated in international regattas. As the latter, I appreciated the obvious care and attention to both safety and enjoyment by Captain Ivan and Chef/Deckhand Julia. If you simply want to soak in the sun, swim (and eat), you’ll be happy. The food is excellent! But both Ivan and Julia are congenial, eager to share their knowledge of these beautiful waters that are legendary-the history, the culture, the nature-including the ‘beacon’ of Mount Aetna. This will live on in our memories as a highlight of our visit to Sicily!

This was a beautiful experience. Benjamin and Giulia we’re extremely kind and made the experience that much more memorable for us. They prepared us delicious food made with love and would provide information on various points of interest. We had multiple opportunities to swim in the water and enjoyed spectacular views of catania by the sea. Thank you !

We had a great experience out on the Sicilian sea with Ivan the skipper and first mate Julia. It’s a super relaxing time with a couple of swim stops and some interesting historial insight to the island. The food was great. Simple, fresh and delicious and a there was a decent amount of it so we didn’t go hungry. Our experience was made even better by sharing the boat with a really lovely Danish family and a pair of Americans who were all great fun and a good laugh! I would highly recommend this trip if being on the ocean is your thing (and you fancy escaping the scorching 38+ degree Celsius Sicilian heat!) 10/10 - would go again!
