The Planeta Wine experience is one we would definitely book again. Our guide for the tour, Viviana, was informative and pleasant and the winery itself is beautiful. It's wonderful to escape into the countryside after several days touring churches and city streets. It was a relaxing few hours full of delicious wine. Speaking of which, we tasted four wines and they were all excellent, with a couple being wines we will purchase and drink again. The tour is brief, roughly 20 minutes walking past the vineyards and into the storage facility. Viviana answered all our questions about the wine making process. Then there is the tasting in the charming tasting room and then a simple lunch, ours was fresh salad and pasta, with ample servings of wine to accompany. The staff was very accommodating as another couple had also booked a tour and then became lost. While we waited for their arrival, we were offered wine and a comfortable table outside or free roam of the vineyard. If you're curious about Sicilian wine then I recommend this tour and ask lots of questions. As I mentioned, the tour of the facilities is brief so make the most of it. Again, the lunch was simple but very good and the wines were delicious. It is a lovely place to visit and something we would gladly do again.
