We live in the hilly outskirts of Florence in a quite special spot, amongst olive groves, vineyards, pine and oak woods.
Coming from big cities and having lived abroad for many years, the wealth and variety of Italy's fruits and vegetables inspires us every day and the pace of the Tuscan countryside allows us enjoy it. We believe in the importance of respecting nature and that's why our cooking follows the year's seasons, avoiding chemically treated products.
Although we pursued very different paths in life (Momi, a Milanese, is an architect and Jo, a Spaniard, works producing cultural events), we have always loved cooking for family and friends and that's how we first met... cooking for our children's after-school playgroup!
Many dinners, lunches and picnics went by before we thought to join efforts and organise some special occasions in which we could share our culinary abilities and classic Tuscan flavours with others.
The area is Impruneta (a small Chianti village with a precious square and church), is12 km from Firenze by a nice uphill road that goes through olive groves, vineyards, old Renaissance villas. It looks at Firenze from the top - 20 mins driving, 30-40 mins by bus. This is the exact position of the house: georeference "43.682163, 11.229222" you can copy & paste on googlemap or other maps or key it in a navigator.
Often Jo's partner sits with us for lunch or dinner and if you bring children also our three children would be happy to join us!

Dinner was a wonderful experience and Jo was a great and very accommodating host. For those seeking a unique experience in a country-side house while visiting Florence, I highly recommend this dinner.
We had a wonderful evening on Aug. 23rd with my wife and 2 adult daughters. It started with wine overlooking the hills of Florence, and an amazing sunset! Jo served us a an eggplant appetizer with pecorino cheese and jam. We then had dinner under the stars, starting with homemade pasta and roasted tomatoes, followed by eggplant parm and a green salad. Dessert was baked peaches and yogurt cream. And of course, more wine! We spent 10 days on a tour of Italy, and we all agreed this was the best meal we had, and the absolute highlight of our trip. Thank you to Jo and her children for a fantastic evening of food and conversation.
The highlights of the evening were the food, sunset view and wildlife. Food: simple and delicious. Jo carefully chose each ingredient. One of the best meals of our trip. View: best photo op of the trip. The view at sunset was spectacular. Enjoyed quietly with a glass of wine was such a welcome contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. Wildlife: a family of wild boars and a hedge hog! Getting there: an adventure in itself and not easy to find so leave yourself extra time and call Jo if you need help. Thanks for hosting the highlight of our trip, Jo! We really enjoyed meeting you.
We had many wonderful nights while in Italy but our evening with Jo was our favorite!! Her home is warm and welcoming and the views were amazing! Dinner was delicious and eaten under the vine covered canopy was just amazing! Thank you Jo for having us!!
Jo and Momi are excellent hosts. We had the most amazing time and made life long friends. The dinner was straight out of the movies with the Farm house, the views, the food and the company.
This was one of the best meals we had during our entire trip. Jo was amazing and her home was very beautiful. It felt like we were having dinner at a friends home. We drove 1:30 min for this dinner and it was well worth it. Very magical!
