Quattro Canti

Quattro Canti, officially known as Piazza Vigliena, is a Baroque square in Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy; it is considered the centre of the historic quarters of the city. The site is the intersection of two major streets in Palermo, the Via Maqueda and the Corso Vittorio Emanuele (also known as the Cassaro), and at this intersection are the corners of all four of the ancient quarters (Cantons or Canti) of Palermo: the Kalsa (SE); Seralcadi (SW); Albergaria (wW); and Castellammare (NE). On the southwest corner stands the church of San Giuseppe dei Padre Teatini. A few steps away along the flank of this church, behind the Southeast corner building, along Via Maqueda is the Piazza and Fontana Pretoria, sandwiched between this church and Santa Caterina. A few more steps reaches San Cataldo and the ancient Norman church of La Martorana. About 500 meters west along the Cassaro is the piazza of the Cathedral of Palermo and the adjacent Palazzo Normani.

Belvedere di Montepellegrino

Mount Pellegrino is a hill facing east on the bay of Palermo, Sicily, southern Italy, located north of the city. It is 606 metres (1,970 ft) high with panorama views of the city, its surrounding mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea. In his book Travels in Italy, Goethe described Monte Pellegrino as the most beautiful promontory in the world.

Mondello

Mondello is a small borough of the city of Palermo in the autonomous region of Sicily in Southern Italy. Its beach lies between two cliffs called Mount Gallo and Mount Pellegrino. The town was originally a small fishing village situated on marshland, but at the end of the 19th century it grew into a tourist destination. A number of Liberty style villas on the seafront promenade have made it one of the gems of Art Nouveau in Europe

Great information, very comfortable and great choice of drinks. They picked us up and drove us around for an hour. Explained the history of the town and showed us examples of all the different influencing periods. Very passionate about the town and great way to start your stay in Palermo. Do this first thing when you arrive!

Excellent trip. Fab was our guide and he was great. Very sweet with my seven year old. We saw a lot. We should have gone longer.

Fab was an amazing tour guide! We had a wonderful experience! Highly recommend! He was extremely knowledgeable and we had a fun day!

This was advertised by Viator as an all day tour. When our driver showed up (late) he said it was ONE hour and wanted 200 Euro more for a 3 hour. So not a warm welcome to Sicily. Definitely look elsewhere for your tour.

The car is somewhat unique, but there really was nothing to the tour as far as history or information. we spent almost 2 hours driving around with little information. Would not recommend.

Anyone considering booking this cruise car should be very aware of exactly what you are booking. We were on a cruise and booked this tour back in July for 6 adults in early Oct. At that time there was only 1 option available. We booked "Grand tour in cruisecar" which should have been a 3 hour tour. When we arrived in Palermo, we found the guide who led us to the car. We toured the downtown area and after 1 hour he pulled over and said the tour was over. We were all shocked. I waited until we got home to contact Viator. I produced all the information and screen shots confirming we had a "Grand tour" booked. They insisted we had the "Historical 1 hour tour" booked. We paid a total of 422.00 Canadian for 1 hour. When I go into the website the Historical 1 hour tour prices up at 249.90 for 6 adults which to me would have been more reasonable. They refuse to refund us any money. They took our money and didn't give us the tour we booked, and overcharged us for the tour they gave us. We will not be using this company or Viator in the future. We feel completely ripped off.

Exactly what we wanted to do. We hired an English speaking guide and he was fantastic. He even made us a dinner reservation and ended our tour at a fantastic restaurant. Highly recommend

This is one of the best things you can possibly do in Palermo, so don’t miss the opportunity, but having an English speaking guide if you don’t speak Italian is certainly an asset. Not only do you get see and experience Palermo from an excellent vantage point, but the di river equips the car with snacks and beverages. Pietro, our driver and perfect host, even made us a delicious Bellini to sip as we toured. Fabrizio, our guide, historian, and linguist, educated us on the history of everything Sicilian from the bustling historic street market, Ballaro, to the shrine of Santa Rosalia and throughout the city where the thousands of years of history, migrations, and interventions have left their indelible marks.

Excellent time seeing the sights while enjoying a cocktail in our private and comfortable cruiser car. Highly recommend! So unique and so fun!
