The Pink Beach is located on the southeast coast of the Island of Budelli. It is undoubtedly one of the best known beaches of the archipelago, its real name is Cala Roto, later renamed Spiaggia Rosa, the color of the sand is mainly given by bryozoan skeletons (mainly Miriapora truncata) and foraminifera (mainly Miniacina miniacea), coral, granite, shells and shells of molluscs, the spectacular coloring is due to a microorganism that 'inhabits the Posidonia oceanica meadows, when it dies, the shells are dragged to the shore, breaking up under the action of water and wind , and give the beach an intense pink consistency. To protect this very fragile ecosystem, anchoring of boats or bathing is not allowed since 1998.
