The guide was terrific!!!!! This tour far exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend the underground tour. We had a different guide for the Forum and Palatine Hill, and that part was a bit rushed because there were 2 separate groups combined for that part and the other group had to rush to get to their coliseum tour. We were able to stay and finish at leisure since that was after our coliseum tour.

Alexandra was a wonderful host. She was a wealth of information and allowed us to take time where we wanted to but also stay on schedule. I felt like I could really pause and stare at something! Alexandra even helped me with a few Italian phrases I’m trying to learn for the trip. Grazie!

I wish I had picked any other tour company but this one for our visit to the Colosseum. Keep googling - there are plenty of better ones. We booked weeks in advance and the evening before they changed our time slot from morning to afternoon. At 1pm - no one was at the spot to meet us. At 1:15, Alexandra showed up and barely spoke to us. We ran behind her to follow her through the entrance. She left us inside and told us someone would be with us for 1:30 and LEFT. She described NOTHING to us. Someone from the Colosseum gave us the tour of the Arena (we were mixed with two other tour groups). Then at 2:30 pm the others left with their guides, and we were left to tour ourselves!! I paid for a guided tour. At 3pm we were told Sara would find us at the exit somehow found us. When we got to the Palatine, we waited in a long line with everyone else - no Skip-the-line as advertised. We paid over $435 CAD for this tour. They are the most disorganized agency you’ll encounter in Italy. Do yourself a favour and go with anyone else - there were plenty of amazing guides here that we were jealous were not ours .

We were told to meet at 9.45 but noone arrived until 10.15. We were worried it was a scam especially when phone nr was saying not operational! So we were anxious at start of tour. We walked to Forum gate and queued for 40 minutes to get through security... so much for skip the lines! Our guide was amazing - she tried to get us through security quicker but to no avail. She was extremely knowledgeable and did feed us interesting facts whilst we queued. By the time we got in the Forum there was no time to visit the palaces etc she had planned which devastated us as she was such a good guide. Instead we had to race to meet another guide for the underground tour of Colloseum. It was quite chaotic. Underground Colloseum tour was fabulous and we would highly recommend it. Just devastated we missed out on first part of tour. Paid full price for half the tour!

It was a very confusing experience. First of all, from the itinerary, my understanding was that we would visit Colosseum first, then Roman forum, with the same guide. Our excursion was supposed to start at 10 am, last for 2.5 hours, and supposedly end around 1 pm. Wrong. First, we met with our curator and found out that we are going to have 2 different guides. The first guide is going to take us to Roman forum, then we are supposed to wait and hang out somewhere on our own till 1 pm and only then we would see Colosseum. I was already unhappy at this point. Our first guide was late. She was running, we could barely follow her. She was constantly in a hurry, looking at her watch and reminding us that our time is extremely limited in here. The whole tour was incredibly rushed, we barely had any time to stop to catch a breath or to snap a photo at least. Felt like a marathon. In the end, she just left us at the forum, took two other people that were on our tour (we were 4 in total) and went with them to the Colosseum. Why couldn’t we go at the same time with them and why were we supposed to hang out on our own for an hour and a half is still a mystery to me. We met with this same guide at 1 pm, and she took us to the Colosseum. Turned out, we were joining this whole other group of people and it was a whole different tour guide company. So the company we booked with, simply booked tickets with another company and left us there for the Colosseum tour. Nowhere was it mentioned on the itinerary. As of the Colosseum part of our tour, I have no complains. The tour was incredible, our guide was very knowledgeable, we could hear her loud and clear, she wasn’t rushing us and let us take our time. This is the only reason I give 2 stars. These two stars go to the second part of our tour. In conclusion, I don’t recommend this tour or this company.

Our tour guide was great! She had a lot of patience and was super informative on everything! Was truly a great tour! Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to see the coliseum and learn some history along the way.
