The boat was beautiful and the water was amazing. It was incredibly hot while we were there so a refreshing dip in the sea was perfect on the way to Capri and on the way back. It was great that they had a fresh water rinse off available so we didn't feel salty while walking around Capri. It was a beautiful day on the water! They had a sandwich for each person that was delicious and of course Prosecco for the boat! It was a small enough group as well so we did not feel crowded on the boat. Overall a very beautiful day on the water over to Capri and back. We had a couple of hours on Capri to explore which was nice too. It was just so hot the day we were there so probably would have been better on a day that wasn’t so hot to explore more of Capri.

Our pick up driver, Dino, was on time and very helpful. He explained what was happening and the tentative schedule. Upon arrival at the port, we were grouped together with the people from our transport and waited perhaps 10 minutes before our guide, Salvatore, took us to our boat. Salvatore and Captain Francesco were a lot of fun and were very friendly. Upon arrival in Capri, Salvatore explained how much time we had to explore and gave us a map of the island. He made some recommendations and told us what time to return. Capri was a good place to explore, but crowded. Overall this was a spectacular adventure.

This tour is not worthy of the cost. We thought we would go to sorrento and Capri and it turned out we only went to sorrento to catch the boat, we could’ve done that in positano. They said they will provide snorkeling equipment, but nothing was ever mentioned. Basically we paid the price for transport from Amalfi to sorrento and Capri, too much for that.

The boat trip itself was very good, I would have rated it 4 stars but the process of getting to Sorrento (where the tour started) was not great. First it's a very long drive on curvy roads. The driver didn't give us any instructions and we had to make a bunch of random stops to pick up people that also seemed kind of confused. Then we got dropped off on the side of the road and had to walk to the lift and the port. We eventually got on the boat 2 hours after we left Amalfi. We didn't get to "discover" Sorrento. But Capri was nice. Once we were on the boat it was fine and the trip was good. So if you are coming from Amalfi, be aware that it is a long process to get started. You might be better off taking the ferry right to Capri or opting for a private excursion that leaves from Amalfi directly.

My quick advice is to book these types of trips locally, when you can communicate directly with the service provider. Don't panic, there will be availability. A vendor with whom you book more directly will feel empowered and willing to give you the best experience you can possibly have. By booking through viator, I feel the vendor did not feel empowered to advise us of poor marine conditions on this route. Essentially, we paid over 600 US for a direct trip to Capri no sightseeing at all that should have cost us no more than 200 via express ferry, the most expensive option. In addition for paying WAY TOO MUCH, we enjoyed watching more than half the small group of nice people accompanying us puking off the sides and inside the cabin of the boat. They were suffering mightily. When I contacted viator, all they did was forward my message to the vendor. We did not take the return trip back to the Amalfi Coast Why would we want to get on that boat again? We paid 100 additional to take the ferry back. Yes, the vendor used our decision to stay and enjoy the island as evidence that they delivered the promised service. Read the description. All they provided was portage. They cannot take credit for our enjoyment of the time on land. Taking the ferry would have given us that same experience -- much more cheaply. Viator does not provide any guarantees on its service. They are just taking the commission and creating a buffer between you and the service provider. When the cost is this high, don't risk it!
