Giannutri Island

Giannutri has always been regarded as the Island of Diana or Artemide. It belongs to the Tuscan Archipelago National Park and covers an area of about 3 square KM. In winter it is inhabited by few people who easily walk around this unspoiled paradise. Visiting the island of Giannutri means relaxing and getting lost around nature, allowing tourists to admire several varieties of marine creatures, living in the crystalline waters of its sea. Our Tourist Guide will accompany you in two exciting tours the first one which crosses the Mediterranean scrub and the wild nature of the island, takes us from Cala Maestra to Punta del Capel Rosso, the highest point of the island. Here, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Island and the sea that surrounds it, where you can see the Grottoni: caves dug by the sea into the rock of the cliff where seagulls lay their eggs. In Giannutri there are no bathing establishments, hotels or souvenir shops. There is only room for the beauty of the wild nature.

Villa romana di Giannutri

built by the imperial family of the Domizi/Enobarb, who, in the first half of the 2nd century AD, financed the construction of a house with a breathtaking view of the sea. The villa covers an area of about 5 hectares of land and has a huge terrace overlooking the sea, easily accessible thanks to a staircase. Similar to its twin, the villa built on the Island of Giglio represents a witness of the Roman domination in these territories.
