We start our food tour with the famous Gianduiotto: it is a chocolate born in 1852 in Turin, shaped as ingots and incredibly creamy.Gianduiotti are individually wrapped in gold tinfoil and created with a unique mixture of Piedmont hazelnut, cocoa and sugar.

Via Roma

In the second stop, you will taste the Bicerin: It is a layered drink made of espresso, drinking chocolate, and whole milk (or heavy cream) served in a large glass. The beverage has been known since the 18th century and was also praised by Alexandre Dumas in his letters. Another tasting is the Marron glacé: it is a precious confection, originating in Piedmont and consisting of a chestnut candied in sugar syrup and glazed. They were invented shortly after the crusaders returned to Europe with sugar because chestnuts were a very available ingredient in the woods of Piedmont. Marron glaceés were the favourite dessert of the royal family!

Very knowledgeable tour guide, lovely chocolates & 5 stops, brilliant tour but the chocolates were a bit stingy for the money.

The guided tour was excellent, but it would have been even better if our guide had been able to show our grandchildren how chocolate is made. The best stop was at Stratta on the Piazza San Carlo. The Bicerin coffee/chocolate/whip cream hot drink is extraordinary.

We had a fantastic time on our chocolate tour with Carolina. Communication beforehand was good and a gluten free guest was accommodated, no problem. This really was a great way to try Turin’s best treats and Carolina was very entertaining and knowledgeable. She was also kind enough to recommend some other places to eat for the rest of our trip. A must do experience if you love chocolate!

Carolina our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Working under extreme heat conditions she made the tour very enjoyable.

Carolina was on time and very friendly and engaging. She not only shared information about all of the chocolatiers we visited, but also shared about the city as we walked around. Later she gave restaurant recommendations. Very pleased! We only had one night in Turin and this was our activity. I am thinking I need to go back as so many other things to do. Quite a different place from the crowds of Roma in the previous days.

Our guide, Carolina, was amazing. She had an easy-going rapport with all the vendors. Her knowledge of the history and culture added additional depth to the experience. The pacing of the experience was perfect.

I came to Turin for the first time and decided to try this tour. One of the best decisions ever. We had a marvelous time. Our guide, Carolina, was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. We loved the places we were taken and went back for more chocolate!! I would totally recommend this tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the city of Torino - Carolina was an amazing guide who was very insightful. The combination of chocolate and exploring the city made it an exciting and worthwhile tour. Highly recommended.

We had a sweet time with Carolina. The tour was 2.5 hours with plenty of good chocolates and coffee. Better to leave some of the chocolates to later eating.
