Our tour guide Sharon was incredible! Her depth of knowledge on Roman history including dates and anecdotes was amazing. She took time to answer all our questions and kept everyone engaged for over 2 hours. I loved that she did her best to avoid the crowds by taking alternate routes. She spoke loud and clear so everyone could hear. My only regret was taking this tour on my last night in town instead of the first night!!

Beautiful, haunting and quiet. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. The nighttime view was awesome. Lots of walking. My college aged kids loved it.

Our tour began with pizza and prosecco at the check in point. We then took a walking tour of the Forum area. You don't actually go into the ruins, but walk around on the street level above them. The tour was very informative, as they take you through the history of the area. The Colosseum at night is beautiful and quiet. Much different from the daytime crowds. I only wish there was more lighting on the floor of the arena so it could be seen better. We went into the underground area as well, which was very interesting to see. We really enjoyed the tour and would recommend it for people who would like to avoid the crowds. The tour guide was wonderful!

The forum part of the tour was informational but only included views from the main road, other tours were down in the forum itself which we expected from the description of what was included. The Colosseum part of the tour was as expected.

Tickets and website stated 7:30 start. When we arrived at 7:15 per instructions, they said no, 830...with no reason. Well it finally started at 9:00. We walked around for an hour, not really seeing anything/didn't enter any areas. Then at 10 we went to the colosseum. Which was interesting. Mateo was our first guide, and was wonderful! Unfortunately, we had a different guide at the colosseum who wasn't wonderful!

Recently I sent some friends that were visiting Rome over to this tour as a must do. I know their travel style and did not hesitate to recommend. As you read all the other reviews, you should come away with these main points: 1. Location of starting point is not easy to find...plan ahead and arrive with ample "I might get lost" cushion. 2. Apps are not fancy or meant to be a meal. Plan accordingly. 3. You will NOT enter the Colosseum until after dark as the program states. If you do not want to walk and learn beforehand, pick something else. 4. The guide for inside the Colosseum will be different. There is not a terrible amount of time inside, but well worth no crowds and private factor. 5. ***Of all my private tours during all my travels, I have NEVER had such an energetic, engaging guide. I felt sorry that most in our group were like herding cats, distracted and basically rude. She was amazing and professional under these circumstances.

I am very disappointed, I thought we were going to be able to see the Colosseum first. We couldn't even see hardly anything by the time we got there. Not what I expected.

We arrived on time for the tour. Although I did go back and read where the first 45 mins are supposed to be when we all have an appetizer, NO ONE realized we would all be standing in some alley with plastic cups of Prosecco and cheese pizza. A number of us rushed from dinner to be at the tour at 8pm. We could’ve just came when this “appetizer” portion of the tour was over - complete waste of time. We left the meeting place at about 8:25 and spent 90 minutes walking around the city - not 45. It was as if they were trying to fill time with this and the appetizer to justify a three hour tour cost. It was great to see the Forum, but that could’ve been 45 minutes max. We then walked around and were told about whatever was on the way to the Colosseum. The actual Colosseum portion was 1:15. By the time we got there, though, everyone was irritable about the 90 minutes wasted on doing “filler” time. The actual Colosseum tour was pretty cool. But they again created a filler of 15 minutes with this stupid film depicting a Roman gladiator and his feelings before a fight. When walking around the Colosseum, it was mostly dark so you couldn’t see where you were walking. The guide didn’t have a flashlight and there was no mention of possibly needing one (people started to use the flashlight on their phones). At one point the guide was describing something but admitted we couldn’t see it because it was dark. Someone used their phone flashlight so we could see what she was talking about. Why wouldn’t the guide have something to illuminate areas she was talking about? This tour should be a max of two hours. But then they couldn’t charge as much as they do......

Having arrived in Rome a few days earlier, the waiting time in the blazing sun was too much for the Colosseum, so we booked this trip online, Renata our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her city, it was an experience not to miss, cooler but humid, no waiting, and we were able to go below the stage of the Colosseum. Highly recommended.

Our guide for the Forum area was Matteo and he was very knowledgeable, lively, entertaining and friendly. The Colosseum tour was not as good as we expected, as it was actually difficult to see a lot of it at night. The only benefits were it was much cooler temperatures and less crowded.
