Giardino di Boboli

At the start of your tour, after crossing the Pitti Palace's courtyard your guide will lead you up to the “artichoke” fountain, the large octagonal basin decorated with numerous statues and crowned by a bronze lily. and in front of you is the sight of the "Amphitheatre" adjoined to the hill behind the palace, the first phase of creating this beautiful garden as the guide will explain how it was designed. As you climb up the hill, you will find "Neptune’s fountain", and at the very top of the hill, the large statue of "Abundance", by Giambologna. The guide will later lead you through a steep sloping avenue to head back down the hill and to a large avenue known as the "Viottolone”, with cypresses and statuettes that then lead all the way down to the "Isolotto" a large pond, with an admirable fountain known as "The Ocean", created by Giambologna.

Beautifully set out gardens, pleasantly cool on a hot day with plenty of seating. Lots of statues. Downside nowhere to purchase a drink ( visited on a Monday in August) so take a drink with you!

Loved it here- some areas sectioned off for refurbishment. Lots of places to sit and taken in the atmosphere and many views to use your camera.

We are frequent travelers, and tour takers. This might be the worst tour I’ve ever been on. I have never walked out on a tour halfway through, but it was a relief to do so with this one. I can’t believe they didn’t offer everybody their money back. We showed up 15 minutes early as requested for a 3 PM tour of Boboli gardens, some guests for a late, so they waited, and did not start the tour until, around 315. The guy had a very thick accent, which is normally not an issue for me. But he walked several paces in front of the group of around 15 people and had his back turned to us the entire time so it wasn’t like we could read his expressions or his lips to see what he was saying. And he didn’t turn around to check on anyone. It was like he was on autopilot and we weren’t even there. It was a hot day at the beginning of the tour was quite a bit of uphill climbing. We discovered on the way up that our headsets were not working very well. Near the top, we brought this to the guide’s attention, and some other people from the group chimed in and said they’re having the same problem. The Guide made a few attempts at changing his input, and then just sort of gave up. There was also someone from the Tour company taking photos. Neither of them offered a great remedy or anybody’s money back for a tour that basically didn’t happen. About halfway through, we were up in the flower garden, and everybody ins the group was so frustrated they all decided to just call it quits. The guide just collected everyone’s headsets and goodbye. It was bizarre. They should really offer a refund

Pam was amazing! Our tour of Boboli was filled with interesting bits that connected the history of Florence and Boboli Gardens. Pam took the time to explain and gave context to the history of gardens and the city. I wish we had more time for more tours with Pam.

It was a hot and humid day, but our guide still made it a wonderful experience! We took the gardens slowly and rested when needed. We never felt hurried. Our guide was so knowledgeable and absolutely loved the gardens and made sure we saw all of his favorite spots and the most beautiful views!

Francesca was so knowledgeable and friendly. We and the kids appreciated her passion for sharing the history of Boboli.

Tour guide didn’t show up. No one answered the phone when I tried to understand what was happening with the no show. Requesting a refund and disputing the charge on my card.
