Your Itinerary

Craters Silvestri of Mount Etna

Ascending the southern slope of the volcano, we will cross the lava flow of 1983 and 2002 where we will stop to see up close its destructive effects. We will continue up to an altitude of 2.000 meters, where you can easily visit the Silvestri Craters originated from the eruption of 1892. here you will have the opportunity to walk along the edge of the lower crater, or go to the discovery of the breathtaking panorama that can be enjoyed from the top of the highest crater climbing the slope along an easy path.

Oro d'Etna

On the way to Taormina, we will pass by Zafferana Etnea, where we stop at a Honey Farm to witness the organic honey production process and taste the varieties of organic honey and many other products like Extra Vergin Olive Oil, Wine, liquors, Olives, dry tomatoes and much more.

Last stop of the tour will be at a winery located on the north side of the Etna volcano, where you can enjoy the aromas and flavors that our generous land offers us. After visiting the winery and the vineyard, you will taste a delicious lunch based on local products prepared according to tradition as well as 5 wines expertly paired with dishes.

Great day with an exceptional tour guide followed by a lovely wine tasing luncheon! Such interesting sights.

The tour was very good. We encountered a lot of traffic, which probably cost us 45 - 60 minutes of time, yet, as a result, when we were at Mt. Etna part, we only went to the lowest portion of the volcano and felt rushed. As such, a few yards away was a lift to the upper portions of the volcano, which certainly would have been much more desirable. Nevertheless, when we reached the Gambino Winery, the experience was much better than we could have expected. The food and wines were superb. Our driver was very good, at one point stopping on the road to eat some fresh, wild blue berries.

This was an amazing Tour & highly recommend. Had a private driver for my family of four who picked us up at our Hotel in Taormina. Driver was incredible who made multiply stops along way prior to getting to Mt Etna to walk t our pleasure. We then headed to stop at small honey farm that included wine tasting & other pickings. After we went to Gambino Winery which was Beautiful & had a lunch with wine tastings. It was more like typical Italian Pickings which were great but included plenty of wine. Definitely a Must Tour To Do. Viator, Hands down is a Top Notch Company. I have used in Aruba, Costa Rica & Now Sicily. Don’t Hesitate.

I really liked the number of different activities included in this tour. Richard was a terrific guide, he was attentive, shared a lot of information with us about Sicily and really made sure we were having fun and enjoying the day. The visit to Mount Etna was breathtaking, there are shorter and longer more difficult hiking options. The visit to the honey processing store was great because you could try a lot of different interesting honeys as well as other local products. The winery was beautiful and the tasting was excellent. It was accompanied by different antipasti. I would recommend this tour.

Giuseppe is clearly an experienced guide and you can hear it right from the moment he starts talking about Mt. Etna. He answered all of our questions and let us explore the area at our own pace. The winery was also a great experience, with tasty lunch and a variety of wines.
