Your Itinerary

Siena

Your first visit spot will probably be at Siena, which is regarded as the only living model of the medieval city. Admire the Cathedral and the town main square, Piazza del Campo, a one-of-a-kind urban space with its shell shape that has always been the major center for political and commercial activities in the ancient Sienese Republic, and is the site of the famous Palio delle Contrade horse race that takes place twice a year.

Piazza del Campo

Heart of Siena is its one-of-a-kind square, the imposing Piazza del Campo, where you can take a stroll and take in the views.

Chianti Road

In addition to the breathtaking views of the vineyards and olive groves, Chianti is best known among the tourists for its abbeys, villas, castles, wineries, and restaurants. For this reason, the journey itself is a magnificent path along the roads of Tuscany, where it is possible to enjoy the view of hills covered by vineyards, olives tree, small villages and original bell towers. But the word "Chianti" for every Italian means above all one thing: good wine! For this reason, during the trip your Driver/guide will prepare you for the wine tastings you will have during this day-tour. There are hundreds of wineries and farmhouses in this area of Tuscany and your local driver will choose the ones that suit your tastes. (NOTE: Wine tasting / paired lunch to be paid on the spot -price starting from "free of charge" to 50 Euros and more depending on the type of winery and tasting)

San Gimignano

Upon arriving at San Gimignano, admire the distinctive skyline boasting 13 medieval towers. Embraced by the warm glow of mid-morning sunlight, the town's ancient towers and crenellated walls cast long shadows across the surrounding landscape. Highlights to not to be missed, Piazza della Cisterna, named after the well found at its center and encircled by unspoiled 13th and 14th century palaces; and the Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral). Enter the majestic 12th century, Romanesque church for splendid interior views. Large number of shops are found along Via San Giovanni and Via San Matteo.

Alberto was the best guide we have ever had - thoughtful, intelligent and honest in his opinions. His recommendations and suggestions were spot on and made the most of our journey. We wished he could have stayed on with us in Florence!

This service was an excellent way to travel fro Rome to Florence. The provider service Driver in Italy was very professional and drove safely. He also provides some insight along the way of things to do to further enjoy our trip.

It was a nice ride, but this was transportation and did not include any information or anything else that would qualify as a 'tour.' Given that, we would not have paid anything close to this amount. You're better off just booking transportation or renting a car or looking elsewhere and confirming that you will have a driver with at least some basic information and knowledge to share along the way. Followed-up via Viator afterwards to request a partial refund given that the price paid was commensurate with other tours vs. just rides but they were unable to help.

Our driver Mr. Daniele was so sweet and friendly. He was a wonderful driver and was very willing to be on our schedule. He made us feel so comfortable visiting places at our own pace and even suggested visiting a small castle which turned out to be one of our favorite stops. It was a fun and memorable experience and probably the most comfortable transit method during our trip. I would definitely recommend and would consider reserving again if we were to visit Italy in the future.

We used the services of “Driver in Italy” for several tours / transfers during our trip to Italy. I highly recommend asking for Alberto to be your driver….honestly one the nicest drivers, fun to be around and very knowledgeable as well. He picked us up at the airport, showed us Rome (night tour was fabulous too!), transferred us to Florence with stops at several “hill towns” I wanted to see, another day of exploring Siena & San Gimignano, and then a transfer from Florence to Venice (with a stop at the Ferrari museum)! This company is easy to work with and Alberto was just THE best. They helped make our trip stress free and more enjoyable!
