Colosseum great as was the guide, personally we did not think the underground viewing was worth the extra cost

We had been to the Colosseum 5 years ago and did the regular entry. This time we thought getting the underground tour would add a lot. But unfortunately, it did not. You are taken to a couple of spots under the partial floor that has been constructed and that is basically it. In addition, instead of doing the Colosseum first than then moving on to the Forum and Palatine, it was the opposite. We first went to one area of Palatine overlooking the Forum and then did a quick walk through of the Forum area. We realize there may have been timing issues, but to go back to Palatine and the Forum later would have required another admission ticket. If we had done the Colosseum first, we could have continued in the other areas on our own. Disappointing. Our guide was fine, just rushed.

We had a fantastic guide Diego who was very informative and detailed. His back group is engineering which added a lot as most of the explanation was related to how the colosseum was built and the material used etc. He covered every tiny details and the tour even lasted longer than it should. It was nice of him giving us easter egg small chocolates. Me and my husband enjoyed the tour a lot and we think we were very lucky being guided by Diego. This tour is 4 hours very informative and detailed for who like to know the details of structure and building, engineers would love it more than others. It gives you time to take pictures and rest along the tour.

We booked this tour through a third party provider, Expedia. We received confirmation and our tickets. When we showed up, the guide informed us that while we did have confirmed tickets, we were not on his list. He called the office and was told that while the tickets were valid, and for his tour, we were never added to the list. So NO TOUR FOR US. As this was our only day to tour the Colosseum, we simply will never see the Underground, Arena Floor, Palantine Hill, and Forumn. We did secure tickets to tour the main level of the Colosseum. The guide was polite and apologetic, but still our trip got off to terrible start. They did refund our money without issue. We booked several other tours through Expedia and did not have any other incidents. I'm sure the tour would have been great, but I would encourage you to confirm with them directly before you go.

We had a little confusion finding our tour group but just had to walk around the Arch and ask. Check-in was easy and then we met our guide, Heidi. She was engaging, passionate and knowledgeable. She has taken many classes and studied the history of Rome extensively. This was evident as we were able to ask her many questions and she had the answers. Heidi is Italian but she spoke excellent English. Getting to go to the arena and underground was definitely worth it. Going so early in the morning you beat most of the crowds which is nice. The Roman Forum was also stunning, so much bigger then we realized. This was one of our favorite tours, highly recommend.

Niko was great! He had great knowledge of the history of the Colosseum and answered everyone's question with kindness. Very helpful! Got to see the underground of the colosseum and Niko explained everything while he guided us through it. Underground was amazing!

This was a good tour but the rain changed our plans to see the underground area so, we missed that part of the tour. That wasn't really anyone fault. The forum, however, was excellent and amazing to walk the path of the city and hear the information the tour guide provided. Excellent tour.

It rained heavily on the day we went to the Colosseum. Even though I saw zero flooding from above, security told everyone that the below area of the Colosseum was flooded and would not allow for anyone to go. I ended up paying all that extra money for the regular tour. This completely sucked and based upon the tour operator's guidelines, you pay no mater what, rain or shine. Other than that, the tour operator was good. The radios used to hear her were of very poor quality and I had to change my radio out twice during the tour. The Forum was awesome and I highly advise no one to miss this area of Rome.
