Franco is an excellent tourist guide. He knows very well the history of Sardinia. He brought me to visit the Barumini Unesco site, Casa Zapata and Giara of Gesturi.

The tour was interesting because we also got to see the expanse and colour of inland Sardinia - surprisingly beautiful. Our tour guide Franco was knowledgeable and enthusiastic not only with description but enthusiasm and context. This got us interested and curious. The Barumini site showed us how tribes moved, how they built with stones, how they lived socially and the challenges they had. All pointed out by Franco with examples and background of the times. ( It is well staffed and has a stop for drinks and food) We moved on up to The Giara di Gesturi- which put us on a bumpy narrow road up the side of a big hill to bring us to a basalt plateau with no others there.Great views but the main reason is to hopefully see the wild horses there. Again Franco described what we saw going up the hill - the history of the horses. We got out and walked a little to see the horses but without look. As a final effort Franco whistled and as we got into the vehicle to leave two young horses appeared in the distance heading for a water hole. We watched them for a while and left to return a bit tired but very satisfied with all we saw, how much we learned and Franco’s enthusiasm and help.

Franco manifests a rare combination of passion, knowledge, energy, multilingual fluency, curiosity and kindness. He genuinely loves Sardinia and guiding. He curated an exceptional experience which I will never forget. I highly recommend Franco and his company.

Going inside the main building of the Barumini site. Our guide, Marco, was informative and excellent in assisting us to traverse the difficult staircases inside the building. We are likely to have not gone inside without his encouragement.

Franco was an excellent tour guide and made the excursion a fantastic experience! He is extremely knowledgeable about the culture and history of Sardinia, which made the sights very compelling. He is prompt, engaging, and thoughtful. The itinerary was also well-designed. We chose this particular excursion because it not only showed the nuraghe at Su Nuraxi, but included a side trip to see the lovely wild horses at Giara di Gesturi. Franco is a multi-lingual local and well-versed on all things Sardinian. At the end of the day, we also received many photos documenting our day. We enjoyed Franco’s company so much that we booked his food and wine tour for the next day. Also highly recommended!

Worth visiting if you have no mobility issues since the best parts are via a dangerous staircase in a dark wall cavity. Make sure you wear a hat, use sunblock and have appropriate footware.

This excursion truly made our trip! Yes, the site was incredible but it was really Franco, the tour guide that made the experience so spectacular! Not only is extremely knowledgeable, but he’s also super passionate about the history and culture of Sardinia. We learned so much during this tour and could tell that Franco really cared about making sure we had a great time. We’d recommend any of his tours!!

We had been planning to go here on our own but very happy we went on this tour. There were only 2 of us on the tour and the site was basically empty so we were lucky . Our guide spoke English very well and kept us informed, not only about the Nuraghe but Sardiniaon in general. We also went to see the wild horses which we would never found on our own

This is one of the most beautiful archeological sites we have been to. Seeing the wild horses on the mountain after the visit was also great. Our guide Franco was friendly and knowledgeable. Nice to hear more about Sardinia!
