Rustian was a very competent, patient, and friendly guide. He was always on time and available to answer questions. We liked everything about the trip including the guide who took us through Montalbano's office at the questura.

An absolute must for Montalbano fans. Fabulous tour and our guide Rustian was first class. Well organised and provided lots of information.

Great tour with an excellent guide. Lovely to see the gorgeous scenery featured in the series. The trip to “Vigata police station” & Montalbano’s beach-side home were highlights. There was a lot of driving across country to & from the sites, however, so he prepared for that.

My wife and I had a great day with Alessio guiding us through Ragusa to Salvo`s house . Very interesting learning about the history of Sicily as well as things I did`nt already know about Inspector Motalbano , together with the amazing views of the locations . Also the Mocica chocolate experience .

There was lack of communications before the event and the trip was not as advertised. It was sold as 4 stops, including a chocolate tasting at Modica, but our guide, who was an independent guide, normally only does 3 stops (Scicli, Punta Secca and Ragusa) therefore she didn’t take us to Modica. This was very disappointing as we picked this trip and paid extra for the longer itinerary. Overall what we visited was nice and our guide Sandra was knowledgeable and a good driver, but the tour operator should update the advert as it’s misleading!

Our guide was excellent , pointing out places of interest on the journey It was just the two of us and our guide which could have been awkward but she was so friendly we had a fabulous day. If your a Montalbano fan you will love this

Our guide was the wonderful Daniela, we had a great day! She was not only attentive but informative, fun, easy going and engaged with each of us on the tour to personalise the experience with relevant info etc. We had a slight hiccup about start time (not the fault of Daniela) but it all went smoothly after that. It was a little bit of a squeeze with 3 adults in the back of the car, but I’d recommend this tour nonetheless. The scenery, over all pace and Montalbano places were all perfect. A holiday highlight!

We 4 Canadian couples spent a wonderful time with Alessio visiting many of the Baroque towns of southeast Sicily and places where Montalbano was filmed. We spent time in Ragusa Lbla, Modica, Punta Secca, Scicli and many other beautiful spots. Not only did we see Montalbano’s house, office, mafia leader’s palace, his favourite, restaurant, etc. we learned much and experienced the beautiful southeast towns. We even stopped in Modica for a chocolate tasting. Alessio was a great raconteur and so very knowledgeable. He easily answered all our curious questions about Sicily, even the offbeat ones. He picked us up at 9 am sharp, and we didn’t return until after dark. I would highly recommend this patient, positive and enthusiastic guide. We will always have great memories of that special day.

The tour was fantastic thanks to Alessio who made our day so enjoyable and relaxing too. He was so knowledgeable about montalbano and about the area and its history. We arrived straight from the airport and it was the best way to start our holiday. We had time to wander round in the towns that we visited and we had a great authentic street food lunch. Highly recommended!!

My wife and I visited Catania in May 2022 and booked a private tour of the Commissario Montalbano series locations (Ragusa Ibla, Modica, Punta Secca, and Scicli) with Alessio of Sicily Grand Tour. During the COVID-19 pandemic we watched the Montalbano series from our home in the United States and thoroughly enjoyed the show and the stunning locations of Baroque Sicily, set primarily in the Ragusa province. We made sure to book a tour that covered these areas when planning our Sicilian honeymoon. Alessio picked us up from our hotel in Catania and drove us to the recognizable filming locations of the series. Alessio explained the uniqueness of the Ragusa province and its declaration as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s beautiful landscapes and architecture play an important role in the Montalbano series. The tour locations were all very nice, transporting you into the fictional world of the Montalbano series. At Scicli, you visit the police station that is maintained exactly as it appears in the series, including Commissario Montalbano’s office and the famous door that always seems to slip out of Catarella’s hand. At Punta Secca you visit Montalbano’s iconic beach house that overlooks the sea in which he often swims. Punta Secca is somehow even more beautiful in-person than in the series! Though my wife and I were simply interested in seeing the iconic locations of the Montalbano series, as well as discover a new part of Sicily we have never seen before, our tour was made further memorable by our tour guide, Alessio. During our ride from Catania to the Ragusa province, we spoke to Alessio about the series and shared our opinions about the show’s characters, episodes, and finale. Upon arriving at our locations, Alessio was very happy to answer my many questions about the history of Ragusa and Sicily as a whole. He explained the story of the Sikels, the Greek Colonists, the Normans, Arabs, and the legend of the Sicilian Vespers. I was also very impressed by his knowledge of Federico II di Svevia (Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor) who was an important figure in Sicilian and Southern Italian history, and an interest of mine. As it turns out, Alessio is a sort of Sicilian “renaissance man”: an educated historian, musical composer, musician, occasional actor, and expert tour guide! After a full day of travel around the Ragusa province, and seeing the many iconic locations of Commissario Montalbano, we traveled back to Catania. We further discussed Sicilian history and culture, including the Sicilian tradition of cantastorie by artists such as Orazio Strano. Alessio was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, he even provided us with tour advice when we later traveled to other areas of Sicily. Though my wife and I booked several tours on our Sicilian honeymoon, the Commissario Montalbano tour was certainly our favorite. The next time we are in Sicily we will be sure to book another excellent tour with Alessio and Sicily Grand Tour. We highly recommend! Thank you Alessio! Matt & Marie
