This was a beautiful full day-trip of approximately 16 people. Our tour guide was Jenny and regrettably I have forgotten our driver’s name…he was skilled, time efficient and I don’t want to go without commenting on his contribution to such a wonderful day. The pick up spot was a five minute walk from our hotel in Montecatini Terme. We had two more hotel stops to pick up the rest of our group and off we went to La Spezia where we caught the train that headed to our first of three of the five towns in Cinque Terre…Riomaggiore. We walked the trail up to the viewpoint to overlook the bay, had cappuccinos and some delicious focaccia bread. We then boarded a ferry that took us to Vernazza, which was absolutely gorgeous. We took in the views, wandered up side-streets and enjoyed some gelato. Then another fairy onto Monterosso. Our exploration time in this town was the longest. We explored the streets, had a delicious lunch and local red Monterosso wine and hiked up the trail to the Saint Francis of Assisi statue that overlooks the bay. We then boarded the train that took us back to La Spezia, where we boarded our tour bus that took us back to our hotels. This tour is a “taste” of Cinque Terre, short periods of time in three of the five towns, so if you’re looking for ample time in each town, I can only recommend that you stay in Cinque Terre or La Spezia to take in one town each day. Having said that, Jenny was beyond fantastic handling our group in crowded train stations, small bustling towns, ferry boats, etc. and she was chock-full of knowledge, information, history and made our day memorable! Grazie mille Jenny and our wonderful driver!

This is a beautiful town to stay in people were friendly and welcoming. It was central to Florence, Lucca, Pisa. Plenty of restaurants around.

Cinque Terre is a lot to do in one day. This tour is designed to get the best of the experience and it really is stress free. No time wasted buying tickets, figuring out logistics, transferring trains, etc. Our guide Valerie was incredible, showing us the best of each town while leaving ample time to explore and take in the stunning scenery. Valerie is high energy, informative and offers insights into the area we wouldn't be able to get on our own.. A delightful day we'll long remember.

We had an awesome day! Thanks so much to our guide Tonya! You will love this tour. My son-in-law is a DeLuca and insisted we come through Lucca to ho to Cinque Terre so we did that as well

Recently took this tour with Valerie as our tour guide. This was the second tour of our holiday with Come & See Italy and Valerie. We were picked up outside our hotel and taken towards La Spezia and on to our first stop of Cinque Terre, Manarola, a beautiful little village with stunning scenery. We had a short while to wander before getting the ferry over to Vernazza, the second village of our tour. Vernazza is a small area where we had some time to grab a delicious gelato and have another little wander around by ourselves. Valerie provided our tour group with a taste of 2 of the local foccacia breads. Both were delicious and so fresh! Our next stop was a short distance on the ferry to Monterosso, here we had a quick tour with Valerie to show us some of the areas we could visit and beaches in which we could relax and swim at. We were brought to a store to try the local limonchino made from lemons from the area. Afterwards we had plenty of time to ourselves for lunch and a swim. I would suggest to bring Flip-flops or swimming shoes as the beach is mostly stones/pebbles and is a nightmare to walk on! However the water is crystal clear, a lovely temperature and was a real joy to be able to swim there. The day ended with a short trip on the train back to the bus and back to our hotel. Overall the day was amazing and it was at a comfortable pace with no rushing around. However I will say the walk back to the bus up the hill in Manarola is quite tough if you're not used to hills, this is mentioned in the tour description so it was expected! Combined with the heat that day a few stops along the way up were needed but Valerie ensured us there was no rushing required and walked along side us. Valerie is truly amazing. So warm, welcoming, friendly and full of information. She told us all about the fishing villages including local information and history of the areas we drove by along the way. She also told us about the carrara marble as we drove by the mountains and shipping/industrial areas where it is processed. I would highly recommend any tour with her as she was such a joy to be around and we will return for another spin with her someday soon I hope! Ciao Valerie from your Irish friends!

A rare glimpse of paradise. Early start, met by Valerie on time. Nice trip to the start of our tour full of information and casual chat. The trip started in Manarola. Beautiful town full of exceptional picture opportunities. Short boat ride to Vernazza with a stop for photos and coffee. Move on to Monterosso . 3 hour stop for lunch , swimming, shopping . Simply gorgeous. Valerie was a great host full of information and tips to ensure we got the most from our day.

We had an awesome day and fun experience with the trip to Cinque Terre! Our small group guide Valarie was extremely knowledgeable, and she made the trip interesting and enjoyable. It was definitely a memorable day. The views and landscape were truly breathtaking. It is a must see if you are close by. We left from Lucca and the drive was short and very picturesque. The views from the boat were spectacular. We enjoyed lunch in an amazing setting, and I would highly recommend the folks at Come & See Italy! They were the best.

This was my second time touring Cinque Terre with Come & See Italy and it was a great experience! The first time was in June 2012 as part of a small group taking the ferry to three of the five villages. This time it was just me and my nephew with Valeria in April. She picked us up in Lucca and stopped along the way to give us a wonderful view in the hills outside La Spezia. The waves were two high to take the ferry this time so we took the train between towns which gave a different perspective (and my nephew loves trains!) We started in Manarola then visited Vernazza and Monterosso. Because it was just the four of us, Valeria was able to take us up to some higher points which offered the most amazing views. She also guided us to some wonderful tastings, from a super thin focaccia with delicious cheese to a thin, crispy chickpea pancake (my word not hers : ) and the local limoncino. Even with some colder and slightly overcast weather, we had a wonderful day thanks to Valeria's deep knowledge and natural enthusiasm

Many people go to Cinque Terre for a quick one day... If you have enough time, enjoy all the towns in a two day excursion.... Walking the trip could be overwhelming for some but its perfect!!! if you get tired, get the train and head back to your lodge! Food is fantastic at any place, try the expensive ones, heck, you only live ones! We went and did it by car, another experience if you feel OK with narrow streets/roads... most people do it by train, its efficient and many time on time! but again, jump to a train, get to your hostal/petite petite petite place to sleep and jump in your best walking shoes.. Wine is perfect, local wine can’t be found anywhere else so, buy the bottle if you wan to return with a magnificent red or white!
