Your Itinerary

Florence

For those of you looking for a breathtaking tour of Tuscany during the golden hours of the afternoon, this tour is perfect for you! Meet your friendly tour guide at Piazzale Montelungo Bus Terminal. Piazzale Montelungo is located 5-10 minutes walking distance from Santa Maria Novella train station. Grab a seat on the comfortable coach bus, and prepare to depart! During your journey to Siena, your guide will dive into the fascinating history of the city, with some interesting facts and information. The drive will take about one hour.

Siena

Your guide will walk you through the perfectly-preserved medieval streets to the center of the city - Piazza del Campo. In a city that seems frozen in the Renaissance, it truly exemplifies medieval glory throughout the Tuscany region. With a rich history of architecture, art, and culture, the city of Siena itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Enjoy plenty of free time for independent exploration throughout the medieval-style buildings, artisanal shops, local cafes, and picturesque alleyways.

Piazza del Campo

Piazza del Campo is a must-see in Siena. This (very) large, oval shaped “piazza” is a popular gathering place for locals to meet with family, friends, and classmates. You will probably notice Sienese locals resting on the wide slopes, which lead to Palazzo Comunale and Torre del Mangia. The vibrant square is also home to an annual palio horse race, an epic competition between the different neighborhoods of Siena!

Duomo di Siena

exploring Siena as you please, it is recommended you take some time to visit the heart of the city - the Siena Cathedral. As you walk up to the church, you will immediately notice the breathtaking facade decorated colorfully in pink, green, white, and black marble. Constructed in the 1200’s, this is a perfect example of Romanesque-Gothic architecture. Inside the Cathedral, take some time to admire the unique floors filled with marbled mosaics, depicting biblical stories on 56 different scenes. As you look up, you will see masterpieces throughout the church from Renaissance masters including Donatello, Pisano, Pinturicchio, and Michelangelo. Stroll through the grandiose atmosphere inside, and before exiting, don't forget to stop in the hidden gem of the Cathedral - the deep-colored frescoes of the Piccolomini Library!

Chianti Road

A truly unforgettable evening awaits you… You will be brought to a rustic wine estate in the heart of the Chianti wine region. The estate overlooks the rolling hills and lush land. You will be seated at a prepared table among the vineyards of the estate. Does it get much better than this? One of the local wine producers will serve the appetizers of local, seasonal products such as bruschette, salami, and fresh cheese. Then, indulge in a home cooked pasta dish, all made with local products from the region. And the best part - your dinner will include a tasting of various high-quality wines, including Chianti Classico. Enjoy this fantastic meal under the glowing, colorful sky of Tuscany as the sun falls into the horizon.

Florence

After your delicious (and picture-perfect!) dinner under the Tuscan sunset, it will be time to head back to Florence. You will arrive back in the early evening.

Very disappointed with the tour. Maybe I should have booked a different one. The tour guide was very nice, but didn’t have to do much. She led us from the bus into Siena, and then told us to meet back in 2 hours. The wine experience was poor at best. The staff showed a total lack of interest - didn’t walk us thru the meals and wine. Very little commentary from them. They missed a great opportunity as their place is beautiful. But the execution was awful. I’ve had great luck with Viator but this one was clearly the worst.

We had the opportunity to explore the beautiful medieval city of Sienna and later a wine testing accompanied with dinner.

Lisa was fantastic! We learned much about Sienna and wine.🍷 The country side was beautiful! despite the rain. Loved the winery, its vineyards were huge really some thing. The winery inside and outside was very impressive. Loved the family and the wine was outstanding really! And the accompanying food was very delicious! Highly Recommended! Would do it again!!!

I should have listen to the other review that rated it poorly, as this was a horrible experience. Was not worth the money. Should have spent the money on something else.

There was an accident in the highway that delayed our arrival in Sienna. This meant that it was already dark when we arrived at the winery so we were unable to tour it. While the accident was outside the tour company’s control, i would have expected them to survey the group to find out of folks preferred to cut short the time in Sienna so that we could arrive at the winery in daylight.

The advertisement for this tour said the group would have a maximum of 30 people. We had a group of four (2 couples). There were 48 people on our tour. The tour guide did a nice job, but there were too many people for one guide. We ran late and didn’t arrive at the winery until after dark, causing us to miss the scenic beauty of the drive from Siena to the winery. The seating at the winery for this large of a group at such a long table meant that some of the attendees had difficulty hearing the presentation from the winery workers. We were at the very end of the table. Siena is a beautiful town and a must see (this was our second visit to Siena), but make sure you are careful about the size of your tour group.

I had the most wonderful time on this trip to Siena with the wine tasting dinner. Our tour guide was friendly, organized, informative and fun! The time in Siena was the perfect amount of time to walk around. But the dinner and wine tasting led by the hilarious Paulo at Tenuta Torciano was so fun and delicious. Highly recommend!

Disappointment If we had a do over we would either skip sienna or do a train trip ourselves, then do a separate winery trip. Tour guide was ok, but provided the bare minimum of information on sienna and the Chianti region. Don’t expect a great “ guided” tour. Tour was 50-60 people. Something had led me to think this would be a smaller group, but probably misunderstanding on my part. Sienna is interesting. Will appeal differently to everyone depending on your interests. Lots of shops. Nice plaza to have a drink or bite to eat and people watch. Didn’t go into the Duomo. It is amazing from the outside. Many little streets to explore. Late afternoon definitely less crowded than mid day. Unfortunately someone was late getting to the meeting place in sienna so delayed getting to the winery by 20 minutes or so. The winery experience was very disappointing. Write up said: - [ ] Winery tour - 100% didn’t happen - [ ] “Up to 4 glasses” of wine with dinner - received 4 very small tastings. 2 white, one Chianti. A thimble of dessert wine. Sure they were all in glass, but you won’t feel as though you had even one “glass” to drink. - [ ] “Prepared table among the vineyards”. Well since it was completely dark it was probably a good thing we were all seated at one long table inside the barrel room. Elbow to elbow. - [ ] Winery food was ok. Portions smallish which is ok for me however a big eater may leave hungry. Appetizer of salami with 2 tiny pieces of cheese was good, the accompanying crostini with olive oil hard as a rock. lasagna was fair, thinly sliced pork and potato plate was interesting although very salty. Dessert was a biscotti with the thimble of dessert wine. All in all we were disappointed and would not recommend.
