Francesco will tell you more about the history of the fountain and its significance to the city, sharing fascinating stories about Bernini.

Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant'Angelo

The Castel Sant’Angelo Rome was originally built as the tomb of Roman Emperor Hadrian in 135 AD. This mausoleum was eventually converted into a military fortress that protected Rome during the Middle Ages. Since then, it has served as the Papal Residence, a prison during the Renaissance era and now, as one of Rome’s museums. Other than serving as a repository of historical information, it is a site of immense cultural value that houses many sculptures, architecture, frescoes, and more.

Piazzale Garibaldi

If you're lucky enough to book the morning tour at 12 o'clock, Francesco will take you to witness an incredible spectacle - the cannon shot on top of the Janiculum. Our Vespa did not have a back rest, making the ride rather uncomfortable. All the other Vespa's did have a backrest! And we were the oldest people on the tour. Otherwise, we loved the tour. Francesco and his drivers were fantastic!!!

Loved our tour. Definitely the highlight of our trip. Franchesco was very knowledgeable and made us feel great during the tour. The best way to view Rome if you are in for a short visit. I recommend 100.

What a great way to see Rome. We opted to have a driver I had Francesca and my partner had the main guide Francesco. There were 2other couple on the other 2bikes so not too big a group for the tour. Francesco was an excellent tour guide - very knowledgeable and also a cheerful humorous guy. We saw all the main sites and it was great fun zipping through the little back streets where you got to see life in Rome. We would highly recommend.

This was really fun. I opted for drivers for myself and my 13 year old bad am glad I did as not up to Rome traffic and the cobbles when wet! Also it meant I could just enjoy the city. My 13 year old son loved it and it was a highlight after a lot of walking and audio tours in Naples and Rome! Francesco was well informed and made the tour light hearted and fun. Would recommend although not the cheapest and you do have to pay for the drivers separately.

Marco, a grizzled 20-year tour guide, and I covered a lot of territory in 3-hours. Blessed with postcard perfect weather, we blithely zipped around taxis and tour buses, seeing more of Rome than most larger tours could do in a full day. It's a bit intimidating weaving through crowded streets so close to buses or bouncing up cobble stone side streets. But with Marco's driving skills I soon felt at ease and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Decided to not even go. My husband voiced some concerns about the roads being so crowded in Rome with so many tourists and driving in and out of them. Tour guy made some rude gestures to his friend about my husband that I wasn't supposed to see. I did not get good vibes from him and I had some difficulty understanding his English, so we opted not to even go-even though they offered drivers. While we were standing there, a car came driving by and knocked over and damaged 2 vespas. Wasn’t for us for sure. We’ve had 15 excellent experiences on Viator—but this was by far the worst.

What a wonderful experience that was. Self-guided tour of Rome on a Vespa under the guidance of Francesco. He took us to all the highlights of Rome in a very pleasant way. We arrived at the various monuments and sights not via the usual routes, but via small alleys. With a nice photo opportunity at the Colosseum at the end. Thank you very much, Francesco. Make sure you have a valid driver's license with you.
