Canal Grande

The Grand Canal is the main canal through the historic centre of Venice. About 3800 metres long, it divides the historic centre into two parts, tracing an inverted 'S', which runs from the Ponte della Libertà to the Bacino di San Marco.

Admission Included

Piazza San Marco

Gem of Venice, Piazza San Marco is one of the must-sees places if you're visiting this beautiful city.

Casa di Marco Polo

(Pass by)

Marco Polo was an Italian traveller, writer, ambassador and merchant. The report of his travels in the Far East is collected in the work Il Milione, a veritable geographical encyclopaedia that brings together the essential knowledge available in Europe at the end of the 13th century about Asia.

Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute

(Pass by)

Santa Maria della Salute is a basilica in Venice built in the area of Punta della Dogana, from where it stands out in the panorama of St Mark's Basin and the Grand Canal. Designed by Baldassare Longhena with attention to Palladio's models, it is one of the best expressions of Venetian Baroque architecture. Its construction was a votive offering to the Virgin Mary by the Venetians to save them from the plague, which decimated the population between 1630 and 1631, as had happened previously with the Church of the Redeemer. The cult became so deeply rooted in Venice that the Virgin Mary was added to the list of patron saints of the city of Venice. In December 1921 Pope Benedict XV elevated it to the rank of minor basilica.

Teatro La Fenice

(Pass by)

The Gran Teatro La Fenice, located in the Sestiere di San Marco in Campo San Fantin, is today the main opera house in Venice and one of the most prestigious in the world. Every year it holds the traditional New Year's Concert. Twice destroyed and rebuilt, it has been the venue for major opera and symphonic seasons and the International Festival of Contemporary Music.

Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo (San Zanipolo)

(Pass by)

The basilica of Saints John and Paul is one of the most impressive medieval religious buildings in Venice, together with the basilica of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. It is considered the pantheon of Venice due to the large number of Venetian doges and other important figures who have been buried there since the 13th century. It stands in the campo of the same name, in the Castello district. In September 1922 Pope Pius XI elevated it to the dignity of a minor basilica.

Campo Santa Maria Formosa

(Pass by)

Campo Santa Maria Formosa is a campo in Venice, located in the Castello district. It is one of the largest squares in the city: a total of nine calli and eleven bridges (some of which simply connect the entrances to the palaces) branch off from it. The name is due to the presence of the church of Santa Maria Formosa.

Tour was ok. We did a lot of walking and got very little information. Others in the tour felt the same but first timers to Venice loved it.

This below paragraph is what I wrote to the company (Viator) twice and it’s been 3 days and no reply back from them. “Hi I paid $101.13 for this tour: Morning Walk Tour of Venice plus Gondola Ride. I got the morning walk on Friday, February 16 at 9am, but did not get the gondola ride? Please advise? “ Viator should either reimburse me fully or at the bare minimum pay back some percentage of the cost that I paid since I never got the gondola ride.

Monica was very knowledgeable and gave us a great deal of information. It was wonderful walking through the city. The gondola ride at the end was very enjoyable. Our gondolier was very good and we were amazed at how talented he was.

Guide was very knowledgeable but not engaging. Felt like he was just reciting a memorized script. The gondola was the best part. Says right in the description that the gondoliers don’t talk, and they don’t, however was a beautiful ride & view. Overall it’s a good option for families because the tour portion is short and kids love the gondola.

Monica, our tour guide, brought Venice to life. You can tell that she has a passion for people and her city.

Very interesting and insightful. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the rich history of Venice. We had a great time

Deborah_O

Great local insights to help further exploration. Group was large at 23 people and we got strung out in the calles and over bridges so it was hard for the radio signal to stay strong.

Richard_V

Learning the rich history of how Venice came to be a thriving center of trade, commerce, and art. Our Tour Guide Antonella was extremely knowledgeable and answered many a question on our journey. Our expedition culminated with a fun Gondola ride in and out if the Grand Canal.

Praveena_N

I believe that the cost was too much as the guides did not provide any commentary to add significance to what you were seeing.

We booked a walking tour with 30 minute gondola ride. We arrived to walk for 5 minutes to the gondola. We got in. It lasted no more than 15 minutes. I complained to the guide. They advised I contact the tour opera. Very disappointing. Tour was OK. Not the places we wanted to see or visit. Not overly interesting.
