Michele gave us a fantastically interesting talk around the mine and most especially the museum. His family have a close connection with the whole project, trying to ensure that there is an interesting place for people to visit. He was incredibly informative and helpful. This is truly an interesting site to visit and Michele’s connection with it gives visitors a really good insight into their work in trying to preserve this site. I would urge visitors to support the wonderful work they are and have already done, so that this piece of history is not lost. Many thanks Michele, we really enjoyed our visit.

Esperienza interessante grazie anche alla competenza della guida locale Michele Pinna. Abbiamo visitato sia la galleria di Villamarina, interna alla miniera, sia il complesso adiacente che includeva le principali strutture produttive, gli alloggi della direzione e quelli degli operai. Un itinerario coinvolgente alla scoperta della Miniera di Monteponi e della vita intorno ad essa !! Da consigliare a tutti !!

Esperienza interessante e coinvolgente, grazie anche alla competenza storica e tecnica delle preparatissime guide locali. Si può visitare sia la galleria di Villamarina, interna alla miniera, sia l’adiacente complesso che includeva le principali strutture produttive, gli alloggi della direzione e quelli degli operai. Il villaggio è in stato di abbandono quasi totale e forse anche per questo risulta molto suggestivo, benché desolato. Il tour completo dura due ore abbondanti, ma il tempo vola seguendo le vicende dei luoghi e delle persone, raccontate con passione dalle eccellenti guide. Merita assolutamente, si conosce una pagina di storia locale che aiuta anche a capire meglio certe contraddizioni di questo angolo di Sardegna bellissimo ma, a tratti, decadente.

Abbiamo effettuato la visita con MIchele a metà settembre: "cicerone" documentatissimo, ambienti molto interessanti, una vera scoperta, al di fuori dei soliti percorsi minerari, peraltro anch'essi molto interessanti. Siamo contenti della visita alla miniera di monteponi perché il sito è meraviglioso! Il migliore in assoluto. La nostra guida, Michele, è una persona molto preparata che conosce la storia... Cosa molto importante perché girare senza sapere non ha nessuna utilità.. Senza guardare l'orologio abbiamo visto tutto... Senza fretta nelle spiegazioni lo abbiamo seguito con vero piacere. Consigliamo a tutti di andare a vedere monteponi ma soprattutto di andarci con una guida e che oltre a sapere ci mette passione nel suo lavoro.

Un posto magico che nonostante l'abbandono dà ancora bene l'idea di come era il sito minerario, come si lavorarava e come si viveva, grazie anche alla guida Michele, molto preparato e grande conoscitore sia della miniera che del territorio. Dopo una prima affascinante visita in agosto, con gli amici Stefano, Bente e Francesca, sono tornato il 4 gennaio 2020 con Silvia Kinga ed Artur a rivedere la Miniera di Monteponi ed il Pozzo Sella. Da estimatore dell'archeologia industriale e della storia mineraria della zona dell'Iglesiente, considero quest'area come uno dei "luoghi del cuore". A Pozzo Sella puoi scoprire che anche un oggetto puramente funzionale, come una scala di passaggio da un piano all'altro di un'officina meccanica, può essere realizzato con un gusto estetico teoricamente ingiustificato, ma che lo fa assurgere alla dignità di opera d'arte, Ho anche potuto apprezzare ed ammirare, lo sforzo e la dedizione di quanti, come Michele Pinna (che ci ha fatto da guida con perizia e passione) ed altri che prestano volontariamente tempo e risorse per recuperare e mantenere viva la struttura e la memoria di questi presìdi di storia locale. Non posso però fare a meno di auspicare una altrettanto costruttiva presenza ed azione delle istituzioni, affinché la ricchezza culturale di questo patrimonio possa essere divulgata in modo strutturato ai visitatori dell'Isola, a beneficio loro, del sito e - perché no - dell'economia e dell'occupazione locale.
