Piazza dei Miracoli

Battistero di San Giovanni

The Pisa Baptistery of St. John (Italian: Battistero di San Giovanni) is a Roman Catholic ecclesiastical building in Pisa, Italy. Construction started in 1152 to replace an older baptistery, and when it was completed in 1363, it became the second building, in chronological order, in the Piazza dei Miracoli. The shape of the building, the material used, the distribution of the interior spaces given by the columns and the space between the two domes make the Baptistery create an incredible effect of acoustic resonance, better known as Echo. The sound spreads throughout the space, like a continuous wave, rising in tonality to the point of suggesting the presence of an angelic choir. Every half hour the Baptistery staff performs a small demonstration for tourists: the effect is not to be missed.

Admission Included

Duomo di Pisa

Pisa Cathedral is a medieval Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, in the Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, Italy. It is a notable example of Romanesque architecture, in particular the style known as Pisan Romanesque

Piazza della Signoria

Piazza della Signoria has been at the center of Florence's political life since the 14th century. The Square has seen important historical events and great triumphs take place, such as the return of the Medici in 1530. The famous sculptures located in Piazza della Signoria have references to the political events of Florence. The David (the original is located in the Accademia Gallery) was created by Michelangelo and positioned in front of Palazzo Vecchio to symbolize the power of the Florentine Republic in contrast with the tyranny of the Medici. Hercules and Cacus (1534) by Bandinelli instead symbolizes the physical power of the family.

Admission Not Included

Ponte Vecchio

Built near a Roman-era crossing, the Ponte Vecchio was until 1218 the only bridge that crossed the Arno in Florence. Above Ponte Vecchio you can see a part of the beautiful Vasari Corridor. This corridor, built in 1565 by Giorgio Vasari, passes just above the goldsmith shops that currently stand on either side of the bridge. Commissioned by the Medici, it allowed them to move from Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti without having to cross the streets of Florence, in complete safety. At the time of the construction of the Corridor, the butchers' shops were gathered on the Ponte Vecchio, whose activity probably disturbed the passage of the Medici, who in 1593 had them moved, replacing them with the more "decorous" goldsmith shops.

Admission Not Included

Piazzale Michelangelo

Piazzale Michelangelo is the most evocative point of Florence. From here you can admire the whole city with its splendid monuments. This square was dedicated to the great Renaissance artist Michelangelo and the copy of David is located in the center of the square next to the four allegories of the Medici Chapels of San Lorenzo.

Excellent experience. Great way to see Florence and Pisa in one day. Lovely van, Yara(guide) and Valentine(driver) were very courteous, knowledgeable and always on time. Pickup and drop off were very convenient. You don’t need more than one day to see everything in Pisa and Florence because they covered it all very well.

A full day, communication with guide wax excellent. Picked up right at our door which was great. A small group meant we didn't waste time and with such a long travel time things ran smoothly. Local guide in Florence was excellent.

It was a very fun tour. My daughter and I learned a lot. Our tour guide and driver were really nice and knowledgeable. Things were well organized and went very smoothly. I loved that they pick-up/drop-off to hotel. It makes things easier being our first time in Rome.

We had the most amazing time on this tour! We got a lovely “appetizer” of Pisa and Florence. We stopped at some of the highlights, which piqued our interest in wanting to explore the towns further. Our tour guides, Alexis & Giovanni, and our driver, Massimo, were the absolute best! Extremely friendly & knowledgeable. Massimo & Alexis personally picked us up at our hotel, drove us to Pisa & Florence, and dropped us off at our hotel’s doorstep at the end of our day trip. They also offered to drop us off wherever we’d like, which was amazing! So considerate & gracious. Beyond our day trip, our tour guides gave us wonderful, local tips on places to visit, and even the proper way to make some of the local cuisine! Extremely hassle-free. Great communication with the tour operator. The whole day trip was an enriching, memorable experience…it was worth every penny! Highly recommended.

Our tour guides were fantastic! Well informed, friendly and accommodating. They made the day informative and an enjoyable trip through history. I wish we could have spent more time together.

My tour guide ( such a sweet girl from Libano; she is a gem ) and Don Roberto our chofer were perfectly on time for the pickup at the hotel. She is super informative and always watching over of all the group needs. Giovanni our tour guide in Florence also wonderful. I recommend this tour for anyone that wants an A+ experience. Thank you so much for everything.

The sights were wonderful although it is a very long day to drive from Rome to Florence and back. Our guide in Florence was wonderful and the perfect amount of information. Our guide in Pisa was kind but had little to say during the long travel. If having a driver going 90 MPH while continually changing radio stations and tailgating is your style, then this is your opportunity. A bit of a white-knuckle situation for me.

Vinay_G

Pick up from out hotel was on time. Yara was exceptionally kind, polite, eager to help and informative. She made sure I was comfortable in walking during the trip considering my recent knee surgery. She walked alongside with me many times.

GALICANO_I

We had Yara as a tour guide and she was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly! Roberto the driver did a great job navigating through the streets of Rome!

Julie_M

Yara and our driver took wonderful care of us. We enjoyed the visit in Pisa and Florence. The small group setting was perfect for our family of four. We enjoyed lunch at the recommended stop and covered much more ground than we would have had we tried to navigate it on our own. Transportation was provided to and from our AirBNB which made it even better. The company was responsive when I had questions leading up to the day. It was a great way to make the most out of our visit to Rome.
