Your Itinerary

Basilica Papale San Paolo Fuori le Mura

I will introduce you to the most famous attraction in Ostiense; Basilica S. Paolo. The Basilica itself is one of Rome’s four ancient patriarchal basilicas, and the second largest after St. Peter’s. This massive church was built over the traditional burial site of St. Paul and sits in a park situated on the banks of the Tiber River. I will show you the beauty of the Basilica inside and some interesting features. On a hot day in Rome, you will find the cool air inside truly refreshing. Please remember to wear clothes that fall down the knees with your shoulders covered to guarantee your access to the Basilica.

Ostiense

We will then go to a local food bar and experience the Italian apericena (not widely known but very straight forward when you know how to and very satisfying) which will include very filling tasting plates (pizza, pasta, fritti, contorni, etc.) with a drink of your choice on a panoramic terrace with a view of the Basilica. We'll end the tour on a sweet note in a gelateria dating back 60 years and which makes the ice cream in the room next to the display area. I'll show you the staple flavors offered and other interesting flavors that go according to which fruit is currently in season. The ice cream is always fresh and delightful!
