I have been collecting wine for a few years now and have just begun to learn about Barolo and Barbaresco. So, for our first trip to the area, my wife and I wanted to rely on an expert to help us learn more about the region. We are pleased to say that Alessio exceeded all our expectations! As a winemaker himself, Alessio is extremely knowledgeable about the area, the important vineyards of the region, as well as the vinification processes. What was especially fun, was that most producers had a copy of the MGA book (which outlines all the vineyards in Barolo and Barbaresco, there is one book for each) and Alessio would pull this out and we could dive deep into the vineyards, and the producers who made wine from each vineyard. I think the magic of the trip however was the producers Alessio picked. We were lucky enough to spend three days with Alessio, one in Roero, one in Barbaresco, and one in Barolo. All the producers that we visited had very interesting and wonderful wines and also took a great deal of time to educate us on the history of the estates, the vinification process, and especially the developments they are working on. From a Nebbiolo completely vinified in Amphora, to a solar-powered humidity control cellar system, to a rainwater collection system, these producers are all doing interesting and amazing things in their operation. Finally, at all but one estate we were able to meet and interact with the owners of the estate, which was wonderful. My wife and I firmly believe that our excellent experiences at the wineries are due to the relationships Alessio has with the vintners. In closing, Alessio is one of the most professional, and knowledgeable people I have been able to tour with. We will definitely come back and tour with him again!

Highly recommend this tour! Alessio is very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. We only had a short time to spend in the Piedmont region, so it was great to benefit from his extensive expertise on the region, the terror, and the winemaking practices. We definitely got more knowledge and better wines than we would have experienced trying to muck about on our own. Alessio chose three excellent wineries to visit, each with not only terrific wines but also very personable, interesting presenters whom we enjoyed talking to and getting to know. We also enjoyed the lunch in a charming local place. Looking forward to receiving the several cases we've ordered for shipment home!

I read Trip Advisor reviews with skepticism because even as it's one of the more helpful tools to research a country from abroad, it can be hard to discern authentic experiences from generic tourist pandering ones. We were coming from the alps with a chef and long time service industry professionals so I was hoping that I booked something that we all could enjoy based on various levels of knowledge and desire to find something unique and genuine. What I loved about Alessio was his unbridled desire to talk about wine and the process but also his warmth and approachability. We were bleary eyed finding parking early in the morning after a wine filled night in south eastern France and a wiry guy with a mop top was the only other guy on the street. We sort of looked at each other and our lips parted into a smile. I said, "Alessio?" and he said "Jackson?" and we laughed and were off! Couple hours into the countryside, extremely hung over, and Alessio curated the day for us as we saw fit. Coffee to start before our first tour. Bubbles and incredible charcuterie to start and a nice conversation about our first stop and the changing landscape of that particular winery's history and production method with a full tour of the aging grounds. Very cool. I loved that Alessio was candid about his opinions and knowledge and that he could come at them with the context of being a passionate wine producer and understanding all the factors that go into it. Off into the hills for a Michelin Star lunch and two more wineries of local farmers who were so kind and so informative of their families life works. We were blown away by the terroir differences from just a few feet away on a hill making each wine unique and with its own complexity. Just incredible stuff. What a marvelous region that we deep dived really hard in. You can go as hard in the paint or as light as you want with Alessio but we loved it. Then back to Turin for a late night bowl of pasta and a couple more glasses of wine. Good night. Highly recommend!

It was a pleasure to have Alessio as our wine tour guide during our stay in the famous wine region of Italy. He has a thorough and extensive knowledge about the grapes types, production process, taste difference, brands selection etc. We are so glad that Alessio has widen our knowledge towards Piemonte wine. He also brought us to a very nice restaurant to have lunch. We highly recommend you to use his service !!

Alessio was a great guide to the piedmont wine making district. He used to work in the area and is a winemaker himself and is starting a winery himself. He was very knowledgeable about the terroir and technical aspects of wine making. He had a great knowledge of the different wines of the area, and took us to 3 very different wineries that had some excellent barolo. Would definitely use Alessio again when in the area.

Alessio was such a great tour guide. He was incredibly informative and knew the area really well. He introduced us to the most passionate people at different wineries, who gave us an in-depth lesson on how Barolo and Barbaresco wines are made. Alessio himself is also very knowledgeable about wine and answered every nuanced question we had. It was such an effortless and comfortable tour and we had a great experience overall.

We highly recommend Alessio! We had such an enjoyable day! Alessio is friendly and professional. We experienced engaging and interesting conversation with varied discussions about the highlights of the wine region and local wine makers. If you’re into wines from the Barolo and Barbaresco areas, you’re going to love to spend the day with Alessio! If you’re not into it, you will be by the time the day is over! His choice of the restaurant, L’ Osteria Del Vignaiolo, for our lunch was also delicious! The entire day was well planned out from start to finish with pick up and drop off at our hotel. We have several shipments of wine on their way to our home back in the states to savor and share with friends as a result of our tastings at each of the wineries, as well. A BIG THANK YOU to Alessio for making this relaxing and enjoyable day the highlight of our trip to Italy!
