Our Driver greeted us coming off the ship and escorted us to his very nice tour van. Angelo was really helpful and we had a great drive into Rome. He immediately started pointing our areas of interest and gave us a personalized drive thru Romes busy streets, stopping by some major attractions and giving us time to visit them briefly. It was a nice way to get familiar with the city. He gave us advice on getting around and took us to our Air B&B. I would hire him again for certain!

Finished our cruise on Friday the 8th and would have been sitting in the airport for most of the day but for one of the ladies (Sharon) we were travelling with who went out of her way to arrange a sight seeing tour. There were 16 of us and it was brilliant our driver Matteo was brilliant very knowledgeable and full of little snippets to keep you interested. Stop off for lunch then back to seeing the sights . Well worth the price and would highly recommend to friends and family. Will definitely use them when we go back to Rome. A brilliant day to finish off our week and made all the better with good company.

Our guide, Manny, was simply amazing. We were able to see all of Rome's highlights in a single day. Manny took us to some sights off the beaten path that were incredible that we would have never known about on our own. He had great recommendations for food, shopping and was a true historian with a love for his city and people. We could not have asked for anything more!

This was a most beautiful tour! Guide Luca was considerate and knowledgeable, Allowed us to see the sights we wanted and considered our special needs as to walking. It was the perfect end to our cruise with him meeting us at the port at the time we chose and returning us safely to our hotel. We could not have been happier with his service. Highly recommend .

We used RPE for a post-cruise full day tour of Rome. Our guide was John and he was fantastic! He genuinely loves the history of Rome and enjoys sharing it. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with him and learning so much. We managed to see the Roman Forum, the Baths, the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, Caesar's Palace, St. Peter's, a part of the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, the Victor Emmanuel Moment II and the Pantheon. We had seen Trevi, the Tiber, the Spanish Steps and the Crypt of the Capuchin Monks on our own the day before of he would likely include some of that too! He even suggested an off the beaten path, family owned restaurant for lunch that was affordable and absolutely delicious!! We did hire Lucia as our private Vatican tour guide - WORTH THE MONEY. There's no way we would have a.) learned as much or b.) had nearly enough time at the Vatican without her. She was a wealth of information and was SO, SO kind and friendly with our kids (two boys, ages 4 and 5). She made an otherwise possibly boring stop for the kiddos engaging and fun by pretending they were in a James Bond movie.

Rome Private Excursions provided us with the most enjoyable tour guide we could have hoped for! John was prompt in picking us up from the Civitavecchia port on Sunday, May 12, 2019. He told us very interesting facts while driving through the Chianti region into Rome, including why we should never order steak from a restaurant. (The cows get too much exercise, being free-roaming, therefore their meat has very little fat. Without the marbling, steaks tend to be tough). His van was comfortable and he was an expert driver. John made sure we saw everything promised, plus some. He did not rush us. He was so knowledgable about each and every stop, and had a story for the places we just drove by, also. He took us to a cafe and treated us to espresso and pastries then later on, to a very nice restaurant for lunch. After the 9 hour tour, John drove my husband and me to our rented apartment, and our friends, to their hotel. John used his phone to call the landlord for me and waited with us until she brought us the key. He helped with our luggage and translating. His English was perfect and his pleasant personality was an added plus. There aren't enough nice things to say about the professionalism that John exhibited that day. If we return to Rome, we would enjoy hiring him again. In the meantime, I will recommend Rome Private Excursions and John to my friends and family. An added bonus: no payment was required until the end of our tour. Pay in euros and there's no extra credit card or exchange fee, either!

Our group of six composed of teens, 50 year olds and 80 year olds were met at the ship by a van and driver from Rome Private Excursions. Lucas assured us he would provide the best for us and he did. Day one we were picked up and taken to the sights we wanted to see at a pace we were able to handle. The Coliseum , Trevi Fountain,the Sistine Chapel with our personal guide, the list goes on. We ended day one having a great experience despite the 98 degree temperatures. We were met the next day by the driver and taken to the catacombs, the Spanish Steps and other sites the we named. It was a tour was designed to meet the needs of everyone in this divers group. When going back to Rome this will be my 1st choice for a tour and guide.
