The Holy Sites of Rome excursion was outstanding. Massimo was our tour guide extraordinaire! His wealth of knowledge, courtesy, and professionalism was invaluable. We enjoyed it immensely. We couldn't have done it on our own and I considered it the tour of a lifetime.

Max was our guide and he was wonderful. To begin with he grew up in Norman, Oklahoma so his english is perfect. Also, he is dual citizen US/Italy and lives in Italy now. We are Evangelical Christians and wanted to tour Rome with a proper Historical view of Churches and sites, but also wanted to see historical sites relating to Peter and Paul and Early Christian martyrdom more than strictly history of the Catholic Church. Max is a strong Catholic, but also has a graduate degree in Theology, so could very comfortable discuss with us different views of sites, and the common historical interest all Christians have of some of the places we visited. He seemed to be truthful and cleared up so misconceptions we had of the early Church in Rome, and thus what grew to cover the known world. We have done many tours, but never have enjoyed one more than this one. We knew Rome was a wonderful historical place to visit but we did not realize the depth of understanding that could be gained for Protestant christians when given a chance to ask real questions.

Seeing the history not just of Rome but of civilization is rather humbling. Luca's knowledge is quite impressive. I have studied on it quite extensively but his knowledge is far superior than mine.

My sister and I spent a day with Fausto and a day and 1/2 with Massmo visiting the catacombs, Colesseum, the Vatican and churches in Rome- the both were excellent guides! Massimo’s knowledge of the Churches and Church history are outstanding and really mad the trip special for us - we could not have done Rome in 3 days by ourselves - highly recommend this group of guides!!!!

As previously we had only one day to go from cruise port to airport in 8 hour window. Last visit, 2016, we used Rome Private Excursions and hosted by Luca had a fantastic trip to see most of the main sites, Coliseum, Vatican, Pantheon and guided car tour around Rome including a side trip to Saint Sabina's Basilica as a special request. It was fantastic. This time we just returning from a 10 day cruise with 10 stops we were a worn out and asked for smaller less crowded venues with no crowds and limited walking and a fantastic place for lunch. Johnny delivered on all counts, St. Helens, St. Paul, St. Peter and Treves fountain, and many side stops to overlook Rome with a great local lunch stop. Cost wise factoring in what it would have cost to go from Port directly to Airport it was well worth it. Thanks again to Rome Private Excursions. Dennis/Sabina Kelemen

We did the Jubilee Year of Mercy tour in 2016 which included visits to the four major Papal Basilicas and other significant Christian sites. Our guide, Max, made this the most outstanding tour we have ever taken!! Max is the most passionate, knowledgeable guide I have ever met. He “taught” us more than I can ever hope to remember. We were so impressed with this tour that we couldn’t wait to go back to Rome and see more. We were coming to Rome in May, 2018 so I contacted Luca and set up another private tour with Max as our guide. We visited seven churches focusing on Caravaggio paintings and other significant sites like Santa Costanza and St. Lawrence Outside The Walls. Again, Max made these sites come alive. He selected sites that most people never see. He imparted more information than I could process at one time. He just knows so much and is excited to share this with his clients. We left Rome wanting more, so we will be returning next year and will certainly be setting up another tour! Thank you Max and Luca for providing quality, in-depth tours! If you go to Rome, I heartily recommend Rome Private Excursions you won’t be disappointed!

This tour was one of the best we have ever taken. Our guide, Max, was absolutely amazing, giving us information that we had never had before. The churches were not ones we had seen before, so we were really surprised to hear all of the historical info relating to their place in Roman history.

This was the best tour we have ever experienced. Thank-you for giving us the attention we needed but at the same time the privacy to experience it as a couple.
