Your Itinerary

Piazza della Signoria

Your LivTours Florence Full Day Tour starts by meeting your guide and your fellow travelers in the Piazza della Signoria. This L-shaped square in the heart of the city is surrounded by some of the most important buildings in Florence. You will have a chance to admire centuries of architecture as your expert local guide shares with you the history behind the facades. This important square holds buildings such as Palazzo Vecchio, Town Hall, Uffizi Gallery, with one of the most important art collections in the world, and Palazzo Uguccioni, whose facade was designed by the great Raphael. There is no better place to start your tour than in this all-important square!

Gallerie Degli Uffizi

Your first stop is the Uffizi Gallery, the former offices of the Medici Family. The Uffizi hold masterpieces by the likes of Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, which decorated the walls of the Medici Family corridors. Opening to the public in 1765, it was officially turned into a museum in 1865. Inside your expert guide will show you masterpieces such as The Birth of Venus, one of the iconic depictions of the mythological goddess as she emerges from the sea on a shell. You will also see Michelangelo’s Doni Tondo, the result of a commission from a prominent Tuscan family, showing a portrait of the Holy Family with the Virgin Mary at the forefront. Though you could spend hours, if not days, in the Uffizi, your guide will show you the most important masterpieces from this impressive collection. After the Uffizi you will have time for a nice tuscan lunch. Your guide will be happy to make recommendations for local spots. Lunch is not included in this tour.

Admission Included

Ponte Vecchio

After enjoying Tuscan lunch, it is time to continue your LivTours Florence Full Day Tour. On your semi-private tour, your expert guide will tell you the stories of Florence as you admire the melting pot of architecture from Gothic, Romanesque, and Renaissance. Take time to admire the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, the oldest bridge in Florence now filled with jewelry shops and a secret centuries-old corridor.

Duomo

Admire the exterior of the dome of the largest Italian Duomo, designed by Brunelleschi. Hear the anecdotes behind its construction and marvel at the dome that perfectly frames Florence. Learn about the famous Baptistery bronze doors and the history and legends they have left us behind.

Galleria dell'Accademia

Your final stop is the Galleria dell'Accademia, which houses the magnificent 17-foot marble sculpture of David by Michelangelo. Sculpted between 1501 and 1504, when Michelangelo was only 29 years old, the David statue has transcended both time and culture to become one of the world’s most recognized and admired pieces of art.

Babi was great, super knowledgeable, and explained the art as it transitioned through the ages. She provided insight into the theology of the paintings and sculptures along with giving us a history of Florence at the times of these great works of art. 10/10

Just a great day - our family met the Liv rep at the Rome Termini train station, boarded a clean, quiet, fast train for a smooth 1.5 hour ride to Florence, were met by our guide and then toured the Uffizi Gallery, which was amazing. Our Liv guide was fantastic, imparting much historical knowledge and sharing interesting stories. We then had lunch by ourselves and met our second guide for a walk through Florence. Just a great day, and the trains each way were on time and smooth. Highly recommended.

We did the Private Florence in a Day tour with Monica! We originated in Rome. Liv Tours arranged transfers from Rome to Florence and back. Alessandro met us at the terminal in Rome and escorted us to our train with tickets. Wow what a trip. It was fantastic. We were greeted by Monica upon our arrival and our tour of Florence began. Monica is the most knowledgeable tour guide we have ever had. She covered all the important sights and shopping we asked for. I rate the day a 5 star plus! Thank you Monica and Alessandro for a fantastic day!

Amazing city, so much to see and so much history, made it even more thrilling by Sara. Her deep connection with Florence is very contagious. Great tour!

Not bad but too focused on the Uffizi and the David. Really not a tour of all Florence. Also, it’s a full-day tour, but there are different morning and afternoon guides which made the commentary somewhat repetitive and dis connected.

Earlier this month, on July 9th, my family and I visited Florence for the first time. With the help of a guide (Angelo), we were very easily able to find our platform and train from Rome to Florence. This took much of the worry out of traveling in a new country, never questioning wether or not we were on the right train. On our tour in Florence, we were very lucky to have Aldo (aka Aldy), be our guide for the day. Aldo was very knowledgeable of the city and its history, keeping everyone glued to their headsets every step of the way. On the day we visited, it was nearly 100 degrees. He made sure to keep us in the shade as often as possible, stop for water breaks, and was overall very considerate. Aldo was also very considerate when it came time to taking pictures. He always made sure the group never separated, allowing me time to take pictures on my grandpas old Canon film camera. he was always sure to strike up conversations with people in our group, and we were able to bond over our common love of photography. Out of all the guided tours we had on this vacation, Aldo was by far our favorite guide. His professionalism, good nature, and enthusiasm for the subjects of which he was speaking left an impact on us all. We are very happy to have known him, and we all hope our paths cross again. I have a friend making a trip to Italy early next year, and will be sure to recommend LIvtours, and Aldo!
