The guide is very much good about the history of the place, it’s just the right amount of people so we’re able to pay attention to all the details

We did the St. Marks tour with Gondola ride which we'd booked before going away. The instructions to find the meeting point were easy enough and we got there with plenty of time as the tour said it started at 10.15 but didn't advise when to get there beforehand. So we were stood there from about 10am in the rain as the meeting point did not have an indoors. We gave our name and it was ticked off, but by 10.20 we still hadn't left the meeting point. The confusing part was that there were 3 tours all meeting there - some for rialto, some for Murano and our one. We made eye contact with who we thought was our guide several times and she smiled, but by 10.25 we went up to ask what was happening, had to give our names again and were told they were waiting for us. Well thats just not true. After that we eventually set off, only we were then told it was the complete St marks tour including doges Palace and the campanile. We obviously looked confused and the guide said "don't worry, stay and I'll get your tickets and then you can meet your guide". So we trudge in the opposite direction to the basilica into a courtyard with about 5 different tour groups, the tour guide reads out your name and a number and another person frantically grabs radios and gives them to you. We're then told to wait for our tickets and when we're finally given all of our stuff, she tells us to "find your tour guide, she's number 1". So here we are, in this packed courtyard looking for number one. We find her literally seconds before we depart, and it's now about 10.45. We loom at our tickets and it says entry at 11.30 and our guide says that we'd be lucky to get in before hand, so we'd have to wait (in the rain). Not quite sure why the early meet time or the generated confusion, but we were lucky and allowed in. The tour itself was actually really good - the guide was knowledgeable and passionate and we were able to see the main parts of the Basilica with a lot of interesting facts, genuinely the only reason I'm marking it down is the start confusion! Unfortunately we weren't able to do the Gondola as our flight time in the end didn't line up, so can't comment on that positively or negatively. Overall I didn't really find it great value for money though.

Seeing the Basilica of San Marco was beautiful. The waits were way too long for both the church and the gondola ride. Very unorganized. Too many language groups to coordinate for them. We waited over an hour to get our gondola tickets and then waited in line to get on. Once on it I enjoyed it but we could have just walked right up and rode one on our own.

Showed up. Didn’t have our name on the list even though prepaid. No tour to be had. Sent us to buy skip the line tickets to find out none available and we had one day in Venice. Would not recommend. People were nice, but no delivery!

The tour of the St Mark’s Basilica was good. Other than this, the schedule was out of our control. We booked the Basilica tour and gondola ride at the 10.45am time slot and expect both to be completed by 1.30pm. However, we were told the gondola ride would be at 3.00pm! Fortunately we did not schedule another tour that afternoon. A “craftsman at work in a glass factory near St Mark’s Square” was supposed to be included in the tour but the guide left us after the Basilica tour and only showed us the direction to the factory. When we got to the factory, we were told only group with a guide is allowed. We were shortchanged!

The booking process was super easy and the tour directions were simple to follow. Unfortunately, the gondola ride was underwhelming. It was brief and commercialized. Our gondolier was on his cell phone the entire time and did not interact with our group or the other passengers. It would also be nice to have the gondolier for only our group (and not having to share with other groups). Without the gondola ride, I would have given this tour at least 4 stars! Our tour guide for the Basilica, on the other hand, was excellent. He was knowledgeable and kept the group entertained with his humor. It was also nice that each guide only had to give the tour in one language. If this organization has the option for just the Basilica tour, I would highly recommend taking it!!!
