I am an authentic Venetian born with the passion for cooking transmitted by my mother. I spent a lifetime working in the kitchen of various restaurants and now I have the pleasure of introducing our culinary culture to my curious guests. Every day I go to the central market of #Rialto to choose the best fish and the freshest vegetables and then offer them to my guests.The cuisine I follow is that of my family and therefore traditional: the pasta must be homemade!

In the morning I go to the central market and choose what I will cook in the evening: the seasons offer different products. I like the products of our lagoon: famous are the small artichokes called castraure, in spring we have cuttlefish with their tasty black sauce, every week I make creamed cod, one of my favorite dishes is risi e bisi that is risotto with the peas of Sant'Erasmo.As a child they taught me how to make gnocchi, the dessert I love to eat is tiramisu but we can also do something with chocolate. On request I can get a sea bass caught and cook it with cherry tomatoes and aromatic herbs.My home is in the popular Cannaregio district a few steps from the central road easily accessible by local transport. The time with Lorenzo was great! We learned howe to make fresh and delicious pasta and a nice starter. The grate final was the tiramisu. He gave as a lot of recommendations to enjoy our next days in Venice, too.
I can absolutely recomend this event with Lorenzo, we had such a nice day. We started with a tour on the local market. Here we decided which dishes to make. Lorenzo took us to his house and tought us some Italien recepies which we defenitely will try out at home. He had note books and pens for us as well, I took notes :-)
My wife and I had a great time! Lorenzo made cooking easy and fun! Each dish was delicious and something we plan to cook back home. Such an enjoyable experience and we would recommend to anyone visiting Venice!
The meal was ok. Not what I would describe as a feast. Food had been made by couple who had a cooking class. Just nice simple family food. Prosecco was served then a white wine was left on the table but not served. We helped ourselves. Limoncello with dessert. It was a very quiet evening. Conversation was a little hard. I think there needed more people and a bit more input from host. I’m sorry but I feel at $78EU it was way too much for what was offered.
Lorenzo was an amazing host! I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting. He was kind and professional and the food was delicious!
