Without a doubt, the absolute best experience I have ever had traveling the world. Antonia, Antonio, and Federico with their family created an unrivaled experience that everybody should have. Felt like we were part of their family with their warm welcoming and kind words. Being a professional cook I will absolutely say Antonia is a master in the kitchen and they create a one-of-a-kind experience. Thankyou so much for the best experience of my life.
On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, I would give 50 stars! Antonio and Antonia are wonderful, kind, and friendly. We met them and their friends at the winery and had the best time! We walked down to their vineyard and learned all about the history of Italian wine. Who knew how much the soil quality mattered in wine quality? Then we made Neapolitan pizza in their oven and tasted their best wine. Antonia fed us homemade pasta and we played songs on the guitar. It was an incredible experience and you must schedule this! We are so thankful for an authentic experience in the Italian countryside. I hope to bring my Italian mother back here one day! We ordered two cases of their wine to be delivered to the US. I would go back here many times!
I could write paragraphs explaining how amazing our day was, but the pictures speak a thousand words! Here are my most important points: 1. If you do anything, please make it this experience. It is so much more than what you could imagine, it is worth every Euro (the amount of food, wine, and hospitality for this price cannot be beat). We were left speechless by the end of the day with the quality of EVERYTHING. 2. The family that hosts you is the most adorable and amazing family. Antonio helped set up the day, texted me with updates leading up to the day, arranged for a private car transfer from our hotel in Naples, and arranged for his friend Nunzio to translate for his mother Antonia who provides the experience (he was away in Rome but still helped the day run smoothly) . Nunzio was an excellent friend and translator. Antonia was the most adorable chef, cook, pizza maker, and hug giver! Antonio's girlfriend was there as well who helped during the day and she even sang for us while Nunzio played guitar. The only thing that beat the food and wine was the people who served it for us as if we were their own family. 3. COME ON AN EMPTY STOMACH! We made 5 different kinds of pizza, had appetizers, and then an incredible 5 course meal inside Antonias beautiful home. Ricotta ravioli, pomodoro pasta, butter sage chicken and potatoes, lemon strawberry parfait, and tiramisu. The wine continues to flow during the meal! We tried 5 different wines ( 1 rose, 2 white, 2 red). This was the best food we ate during our entire trip. Nothing compares to Antonias cooking. The Wine was amazing and complimented the meal so well. 4. You also get to help make pasta and watch Antonia roll and cut out pasta in the kitchen with her. She is amazing at what she does, and watching her roll out the pasta shapes was such a cool experience. 5. If you have made it this far, just book it already. Antonio will ensure you are well organized for the trip to their vineyard, Antonia will keep you fed all day long, Nunzio will ensure your glass is full and that you are having fun, and his girlfriend will serenade you with her beautiful singing during the meal!
The day at this family winery was perfect in every way which included a walking tour of the vineyard and winery, an opportunity to enjoy cheeses, meats, wines and breads and then on to learning how to make your own pizza dough and individual pizzas. Antonio and Antonia then served us a delicious meal of homemade lasagne, chicken Marsala, salad and home made tiramisu and fresh strawberries paired with their 6 wines. Make sure and ask about their innovative “adopt a roll of grapes” program. I highly recommend spending the day at Cortecarbo Winery with this beautiful family.
We had a wonderful day at this family winery. It was an amazing day. We started off with a glass of vino then meet the family and was giving a tour of the vineyard. The pizza making was great. Then came food and more food the the family entertainment was out of this world.
