We spent 11 glorious days arranged by Travel Motus. We are an active senior couple who want a bit of adventure, and who don’t want to deal with travel logistics. Mario, the owner of Travel Motus, produced a great vacation. We visited a Blue Zone family, had a romantic beach get away at Santa Maria Navarrese, swimming in clear blue-green water, and a sailing day in Alghero. We stayed focused on our vacation. Mario booked hotels and arranged fun guides and drivers; and he handled changes easily. For two days, a Blue Zone family showed us how they work, the town they live in and how to make bread, pasta and ravioli. We ate dinner with 20 relatives, friends and whomever. It was great fun.
The cooking course takes place in a beautiful B’B in cosy Banari. The day was adjusted to our wishes. After a very warm welcome we went to a paneria and heard a bit about their business. Afterwards we started with making pasta. We had such a great time. The whole family was involved. Even the nonna joined at one point and showed us how to make Banari Gnocchetti. Our son Jona was entertained by everyone. We felt so welcome and learned a lot. The food was great. We can definitely recommend the course and a visit to the B&B s’Asilo. Thank you so much.
Most memorable potion of our Italian trip. Contacted Motus Travel to arrange a 5 day trip prior to joining a group tour in Amalfi. My wife and I were led by Francesca who gave us an authentic experience of Sardinia which we would have never been able to attain. We stayed two nights in Alghero, the region with a beautiful shoreline and the red coral capital and stayed two nights in Aritzo a mountain village of 1000 inhabitants. We experienced cooking local dishes and visiting ancient Nuraghes which exist only in Sardinia. Grazie mille Travel Motus
Mario of Travel Motus was very responsive and put together a private tour of the Sardinia blue zone with an excellent tour guide Claudio and wife Beata who went above and beyond expectations. The tour included the classic blue zone village of Villa Grande where I spoke with a number of residents including a centenarian of 102 years. I had a visit to the town hall where detailed records of the births deaths and marriages of the residents were kept and a visit to the Blue Zone Cafe. We ate at a restaurant with excellent food locally. We visited the countryside where there were spectacular views as well as old historic Stone Towers from up to 2,000+ years ago. Sardinia is an incredible place with fabulous food clean air and and very friendly people. Next we visited a historic town Mamoiada where there's a museum which showed the history of the people of Sardinia and the long-standing tradition of Carnival that still occurs in February. We stayed at a hotel that was very comfortable and had excellent food and fantastic wine. We visited a Vineyard and had wonderful wine tasting. A highlight was lunch at the top of a small Mountain where traditional Sardinian food including sickling Pig, mutton, cured meats, cheeses and wine along with Entertainment of traditional Sardinian music took place. We visited a historic town which stood up to the Italian military from taking their land unjustly for a military base with lovely small shops where one can buy souvenirs and lots of wall murals depicting the historic struggle against the military. We took a quick detour to the seaside then went on to another Village where I participated in making pasta and learned about the way they make the traditional Sardinian flatbread called Pan carasau. I had the pleasure of meeting the tour guides mother and father who ran this Bakery and had the opportunity to have a home cooked meal which was of course delicious! The hotel we stayed on the Mountaintop had a spectacular View with fantastic food which also cater to german-speaking visitors. I was able to see their cheese making process. All in all, it was the most wonderful tour experience I've ever had! I took a small camera with me and took the dots of great pictures however don't have many pictures on my phone for this review. Just a few pictures of delicious food at the restaurant near Villa Grande.
