Getting There

  • Driving

    From I-20/59, take exit 73 for McFarland Blvd and head west towards the University of Alabama. Turn right onto University Blvd, then right onto Hackberry Lane. Turn into the second parking lot on the left behind Smith Hall. Five dedicated visitor parking spaces are available; obtain a parking pass receipt upon paying admission for free parking in these spaces. Alternatively, use the parking deck at Campus Drive and Hackberry Lane for $1 for the first hour and $2 for each additional hour. Note that parking may be limited during university events.

  • Public Transport

    The Tuscaloosa Trolley runs from the downtown parking deck to the University of Alabama campus. Get off at the Lloyd Hall stop, which is near Smith Hall. Check the Tuscaloosa Transit Authority website for schedules and route maps. A single ride fare is approximately $1.25.

  • Walking

    From the University of Alabama Quad, walk north towards Sixth Avenue. Smith Hall is located on the east side of Sixth Avenue, between Hackberry Lane and Capstone Drive. The museum entrance faces Sixth Avenue. Allow approximately 5-10 minutes to walk from the Quad to the museum.
