The Dajti Ekspres, Albania's only cable car, is more than just a means of transportation; it's an experience that elevates you—literally and figuratively—above the bustling city of Tirana. Constructed in 2005, this cable car was designed to boost tourism to the Dajti Mountain National Park, and it has since become an iconic symbol of the area. The Dajti Ekspres stretches 4.7 kilometers, making it the longest cable car ride in the Balkans. As you ascend, panoramic windows in the comfortable gondolas offer all-encompassing views of the city, the surrounding landscapes, and even the Adriatic Sea and the port of Durrës on a clear day. At the summit, a variety of activities await. There's a hotel with a rotating bar, Albania's only mini-golf course, playgrounds, and restaurants. For the adventurous, the Dajti Adventure Park offers obstacle courses, and hiking trails beckon exploration of the National Park's diverse ecosystems. In winter, skiing is a popular activity. The Dajti Ekspres isn't just a modern attraction; it also connects visitors to the area's rich history. Dajti National Park has served as a recreational area for centuries, with evidence of hunting grounds dating back to the Ottoman Empire.
