Escape the bustle of Road Town at the J.R. O'Neal Botanical Gardens, a serene 2.87-acre oasis showcasing the British Virgin Islands' diverse flora. Named after conservationist Joseph Reynold O'Neal, the gardens offer a peaceful retreat with vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and various themed sections representing different BVI habitats.

Walking
From the Road Town Cruise Terminal, walk south on Wickhams Cay 1 towards the Sir Olva Georges Plaza. Continue onto Main Street, then turn left onto Station Avenue. Walk along Station Avenue, and turn left onto Botanic Garden Road. The gardens will be on your right. The walk is approximately 20 minutes. Be aware that some streets may lack sidewalks. Google Maps may direct you to the wrong side of the park; the entrance is on Station Avenue, before the police station.
Public Transport
From the Road Town Ferry Terminal, you can catch a local bus heading towards the East End or Tortola's North Shore. Inform the driver you are going to the Botanical Gardens and ask to be dropped off at the Botanic Garden Road stop. From there, walk a short distance down the road to the gardens' entrance. The bus fare is approximately $2-$3 USD.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Road Town, including at the ferry terminal and cruise port. A taxi ride from the cruise terminal or ferry terminal to the J.R. O'Neal Botanical Gardens will take about 5-10 minutes. The fare should be around $15-$25 USD.
