If you're traveling by car from Cerro Tronador, head southeast on Route 225. Follow this route for approximately 35 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 225-CH. Turn left onto Route 225-CH and continue for another 12 kilometers. You will pass through beautiful scenic views of the mountains and forests. Keep an eye out for signage indicating Petrohué River. Upon reaching the area, you can park in designated parking spots near the river.

For those using public transportation, first take a bus from Cerro Tronador to the town of Ensenada. This bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once in Ensenada, you will need to transfer to a local bus heading towards Petrohué. The local bus operates several times a day, so be sure to check the schedule upon arrival in Ensenada. The ride to Petrohué River will take an additional 30-40 minutes. Ensure you have small change for the bus fare, which is typically around 1,500 CLP (Chilean Pesos).
