Car
From El Calafate, drive along Route 11 towards Lago Argentino. Continue until you reach Route 40 and take a left. Drive on Route 40 for approximately 50 kilometers until you see signs for the Los Glaciares National Park entrance. Pay the entrance fee (approximately 800 ARS for foreigners) at the entrance. After entering the park, follow signs towards Glaciar Upsala. The road will lead you to a parking area near the Mirador del Upsala viewpoint. Be aware that the road can be rough and may require a 4x4 vehicle in certain sections.

Take a bus from El Calafate to Puerto Bandera, which operates several times a day (approximately 50 ARS for the bus ticket). Once at Puerto Bandera, you can book a boat tour that will take you across Lago Argentino to reach the Glaciar Upsala. This is often the most scenic route and includes beautiful views of the glacier. Prices for the boat tour vary, but you can expect to pay around 2000 ARS. Make sure to check the schedule in advance, as boat tours may not run daily during the off-season.
