Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from the Grand Canyon Visitor Center located at 1 Village Loop Drive, Grand Canyon Village, AZ 86023. From the Visitor Center, head southwest on Village Loop Drive for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection. Turn left onto South Entrance Road and continue for approximately 0.5 miles. You will see signs for Trail View Overlook on your right. The parking area for Trail View Overlook is right off the road.

  • Shuttle Bus

    If you prefer to take the park shuttle, from the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, board the blue shuttle bus that travels towards the South Rim. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule, which can be found at the Visitor Center or online at the National Park Service website. Ride the shuttle for about 10-15 minutes and disembark at the 'Trail View Overlook' stop. The overlook will be a short walk from the shuttle stop.

  • Walking

    If you are near Grand Canyon Village, you can walk to Trail View Overlook. From the El Tovar Hotel, head west on Historic Route 66 for about 0.5 miles until you reach the South Rim Trail. Follow the South Rim Trail heading east for approximately 0.2 miles. You will come across the Trail View Overlook along the trail with clear signage. The pathway is well-maintained and offers scenic views along the way.
