Getting There

Walking

The Bright Angel Trailhead is located just west of the Bright Angel Lodge on the South Rim. From the lodge, follow the paved path along the rim, past the mule corral, to the trailhead. If you are coming from the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, you can walk along the Rim Trail for approximately 2.5 miles to reach the Bright Angel Lodge. Alternatively, take the free Village Route (Blue) shuttle bus to the Bright Angel Lodge. The walk from the Visitor Center is mostly flat and offers scenic views of the canyon.
Public Transport

From the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, take the free Village Route (Blue) shuttle bus to the Bright Angel Lodge. The bus ride takes approximately 20 minutes and runs every 15-30 minutes, depending on the time of day and season. The shuttle is free and included with your park entrance fee. From other locations within Grand Canyon Village, use the free shuttle system to reach the Visitor Center or transfer to the Village Route (Blue).
Parking

Parking near the Bright Angel Trailhead is extremely limited and often fills up early in the morning. If parking is unavailable at the trailhead, park at the Backcountry Information Center (Lot D) and walk approximately 5-10 minutes along the sidewalk past Maswik Lodge to the trailhead. Another option is to park at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center and take the free Village Route (Blue) shuttle bus to the Bright Angel Lodge. The park entrance fee is $35 per vehicle and is valid for 7 days.
