Discover more about Lake Havasu Marina Lighthouse

The Lake Havasu Marina Lighthouse isn't just a functional navigational aid; it's a symbol of community spirit and a testament to the power of a simple idea. Built in 2000, this lighthouse inadvertently sparked the creation of the Lake Havasu Lighthouse Club and a unique collection of replica lighthouses that now dot the shores of Lake Havasu. The story begins with Bob Keller, a historical re-enactor portraying Lake Havasu City founder Robert P. McColloch. Keller discovered an old city brochure featuring a lighthouse at the marina entrance. However, this lighthouse never existed; it was simply an artist's addition. Undeterred, Keller built the Lake Havasu Marina Lighthouse anyway, believing it would benefit the city. During the construction, Keller, an avid boater, recognized the need for improved navigational aids on the lake. This realization led to the formation of the Lake Havasu Lighthouse Club, which has since erected numerous replica lighthouses, each paying homage to famous lighthouses across the United States. Today, Lake Havasu City boasts the title of having the most lighthouses in America, a direct result of the inspiration drawn from the original Lake Havasu Marina Lighthouse. The lighthouse is equipped with an amber beacon that rotates 20 times per minute.
