Discover more about Tinnell Memorial Sports Park

Tinnell Memorial Sports Park, located in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, is more than just a park; it's a tribute to local heroes and a haven for action sports enthusiasts. The park is dedicated to Patrick Tinnell, a fallen soldier and BMX rider, and Colin Sasseen, a young skateboarder who loved the sport. Opened in October 2013, this 40,000-square-foot park is one of the largest skateparks in Arizona and the Southwest. The skatepark itself is a highlight, featuring a diverse range of obstacles for all skill levels. Inspired by the Street League Skateboarding's skate plaza-style course, the park includes a street course with funboxes, rails, ledges, and stairs, as well as a ramp area with a heart-shaped pool and a bowl with various curves and transitions. A unique feature is a giant replica of Tinnell's U.S. Army helmet, which is a rideable element within the park. In memory of Colin Sasseen, a large concrete "C" is incorporated at the bottom of the stair set. Beyond the skatepark, Tinnell Memorial Sports Park offers a range of amenities within Rotary Community Park, including playgrounds, ballfields, beaches, and volleyball courts. The park's location along Lake Havasu's Thompson Bay provides a beautiful backdrop for outdoor activities. The park is open daily from 4:00 AM to 11:00 PM and is free to use, making it an accessible destination for both locals and visitors.
