  • Light Rail

    If you're starting from the Tempe Town Lake area, walk to the Tempe Light Rail Station, which is located at 200 S Ash Ave. Board the light rail heading north towards the 19th Avenue/Dunlap stop. Stay on the light rail for about 20 minutes until you reach the 3rd Avenue/Washington stop in Downtown Phoenix. Once you exit, walk north on 3rd Avenue for approximately 5 minutes, and you will find the Japanese Friendship Garden at 1125 N 3rd Ave on your right.

  • Bus

    From the ASU Main Campus, walk to the nearest bus stop on Mill Ave and Apache Blvd (northwest corner). Catch the Valley Metro bus route 61 heading towards the 7th Avenue & McDowell stop. After about 30 minutes, get off at the 3rd Avenue & McDowell stop. Walk south on 3rd Avenue for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at the Japanese Friendship Garden located at 1125 N 3rd Ave.

    If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from a nearby bike-sharing service. Start from the Tempe Town Lake area and head west on the bike path towards Downtown Phoenix. Follow the path until you reach the intersection of 3rd Ave and Washington St. Turn left on 3rd Ave and continue south for about 5 minutes until you reach the Japanese Friendship Garden at 1125 N 3rd Ave.
