Car
If you are driving, start from the Tonto National Forest Visitor Center located at 40329 N. Cave Creek Rd, Cave Creek, AZ 85331. Head north on N Cave Creek Rd towards E Carefree Hwy. After about 6 miles, turn right onto E Carefree Hwy (AZ-74). Continue for 2.5 miles, then turn left onto N Tom Darlington Dr. Follow N Tom Darlington Dr for 1 mile until you reach E Sundial Cir. Turn right onto E Sundial Cir, and the Carefree Sundial will be on your left.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transport, start by taking the Valley Metro Bus Route 186 from the nearest stop to your location within Tonto National Forest towards Phoenix. Get off at the stop at E Carefree Hwy & N Tom Darlington Dr. From there, it is approximately a 15-minute walk to the Carefree Sundial. Head east on E Carefree Hwy, then turn left onto N Tom Darlington Dr, and walk until you reach E Sundial Cir. Turn right onto E Sundial Cir, and the sundial will be on your left.
