Car
If you are traveling by car, start from downtown Tucson and head west on W Congress St. Continue onto W 22nd St which merges into S 6th Ave. After about 4 miles, merge onto I-10 W toward Phoenix. Take exit 254 for W 22nd St, then turn left onto W 22nd St. Continue straight until it merges into W Gates Pass Rd. Follow W Gates Pass Rd for approximately 8 miles, and you will arrive at Tucson Mountain Park, located at 6204-7098 W Gates Pass Rd, Tucson, AZ 85745.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the Sun Tran bus route #4 from downtown Tucson towards the Tucson International Airport. Get off at the stop at W 22nd St/ S 6th Ave. From there, you will need to use a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach Tucson Mountain Park, as public transport does not go directly into the park. The rideshare will take approximately 20 minutes and cost around $15-$20.
Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, you can ride from downtown Tucson. Take the bike lanes on S 6th Ave heading south, then connect to W 22nd St which leads to W Gates Pass Rd. It’s about a 10-mile ride, and you will experience beautiful desert scenery along the way. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water.
Walking
Walking to Tucson Mountain Park is not recommended due to the distance from central Tucson (approximately 10 miles away) and the lack of pedestrian-friendly pathways. However, if you are already within a few miles of the park, simply follow local roads towards W Gates Pass Rd, ensuring you're aware of traffic conditions and have appropriate footwear and hydration.
