Car
If you are driving, begin your journey by heading towards Adelaide from any location in North East South Australia. Depending on your starting point, you may take the A20 (Sturt Highway) directly towards the city. Once you reach the outskirts of Adelaide, follow signs for the city center. Keep an eye out for the North Terrace, which is where the South Australian Museum is located. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that there may be parking fees depending on the area.
Public Transportation - Bus
If you prefer public transport, check the local bus services that operate from various locations in North East South Australia to Adelaide. Look for services that head towards the city center, such as the 118 or 118X routes. Once you arrive at the Adelaide central bus station, you can either walk or take a tram to North Terrace. The museum is a short walk from the tram stop.
Public Transportation - Tram
For those using the tram, after arriving at the Adelaide central bus station, you can board the tram on the city loop service. Take the tram towards the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, and get off at the 'Museum' stop, which is directly outside the South Australian Museum. The tram services are frequent, but be sure to have a valid MetroCard, which can be purchased at various locations, including the central bus station.
Walking
If you are already in the city center, walking to the South Australian Museum is quite feasible. From Rundle Mall, head north along Pulteney Street, and then turn left onto North Terrace. The museum is located at North Terrace, Adelaide SA 5000, just a short distance from the mall. Make sure to check the opening hours as the museum typically opens at 10:00 AM and closes at 5:00 PM daily.
