Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
From Mount Gambier, take the Princes Highway (A1) heading north for approximately 1.5 hours until you reach the town of Meningie. From Meningie, turn onto the Meningie-Canunda Road (B1) and continue for about 20 km. Turn left onto the Coorong Road, which will take you into the area towards Cape Willoughby Conservation Park. Follow the signs to the park entrance. Please note that park entry may incur a fee; check the official website for current pricing.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transport, take a bus from Mount Gambier to Meningie via the local bus service. Upon reaching Meningie, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to continue to Cape Willoughby Conservation Park, as public transport directly to the park is limited. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as service may vary.
Car
If starting from Adelaide, head south on the South Eastern Freeway (M1) for approximately 1.5 hours until you reach the town of Murray Bridge. From there, take the South Eastern Freeway (B56) to the town of Meningie. Follow the same route as mentioned above through Meningie to Cape Willoughby Conservation Park. Again, check for any park entry fees before your visit.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you are already in the vicinity of the park, consider using a taxi or rideshare service from nearby towns such as Kingscote or Penneshaw. This is a convenient option if you prefer not to drive or if public transport isn't available. Always confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
Use Tower Bridge as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
