From Brisbane, take the M1 motorway heading south. After approximately 150 km, take the exit toward the A1 highway (Pacific Motorway) towards Gympie. Continue on the A1 for about 90 km until you reach the town of Taroom. From Taroom, take the Bunya Highway heading west towards Sapphire. Once in Sapphire, turn onto Mount Bullock Rd. Follow Mount Bullock Rd for approximately 10 km until you reach the Big Bessie Fossicking Area. There is no entry fee for the fossicking area, but be sure to bring your own equipment and water.
