Radonova House: A Glimpse into Bansko's Past

Step back in time at the Radonova House Historical and Ethnographic Museum, a cultural gem in Bansko. This museum, situated in a traditional 19th-century house, provides an immersive experience into the lives of Bansko residents from centuries past. The museum's exhibits trace the historical development of Bansko from its establishment to its liberation from Ottoman rule in 1912. Visitors can explore a rich collection of artifacts, including traditional clothing, household items, and tools that offer insights into the daily life and customs of the local population. The museum also features a photo-documentary exhibition named “Heroic Bansko”, renovated and expanded in 1988. The Radonova House itself is a monument of culture, reflecting the architectural style of the Bulgarian Renaissance. The house once belonged to Hadji Kandit Dagaradin, a prominent figure in the national liberation movement and an adherent of Vasil Levski and Georgi Benkovski. The museum's collection also includes archaeological finds from the region, such as ceramic fragments, vessels, coinage and ornaments, showcasing the area's history from Thracian times through the Middle Ages.
