Getting There

  • Driving

From Highway 101, take the last Sausalito exit before the Golden Gate Bridge if you're coming from the north, or the second exit after the bridge if you're coming from the south. Follow Alexander Avenue under the freeway, then take Danes Drive. Go through the Bunker Road tunnel and continue for about 2.5 miles until you see Rodeo Lagoon. Follow the road with the lagoon on your left, then turn right at the fork in the road. Turn right again at the Marine Mammal Center sign. Parking is free but limited. Expect longer wait times at the tunnel during peak hours.

  • Public Transport

Unfortunately, there is no public transportation directly to the Marine Mammal Center. The Sausalito ferry arrives in downtown Sausalito, six miles from the center. From there, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the center, but pre-arrange your return trip due to the remote location. Taxi/rideshare cost from the ferry terminal is approximately $25 - $40.
