From the Third Street Promenade, walk east on Santa Monica Blvd for approximately three blocks. The library will be on your right, just past 6th Street. The walk is flat and pedestrian-friendly.

Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are readily available in Santa Monica. A ride from the Santa Monica Pier to the library will typically cost between $8 and $12, depending on traffic and demand.

If driving, parking is available in the Main Library Parking Structure (entrance on 7th Street between Arizona Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard). Parking rates are as follows: First 30 minutes: free, 30 min - 3 hours: $1 every 30 minutes, 3 hours - 5 hours: $1.50 every 30 minutes, 5 hours - 5 hours 30 minutes: $12, 5 hours 30 min or more: $14 (daily maximum). There are also metered parking spots on nearby streets, but these can be difficult to find during peak hours. Note that the garage closes and locks at 11pm.
